Flight MG-029: Monster

"Are you going tonight?" I asked Gabby on the phone through a video call. I just got home from my flight when Corbyn texted me at pinapapunta ako ng Mile High Club mamayang gabi para mag-celebrate ng pagka-panalo ni Lexi sa isang big case.

She was wearing a scrub suit while washing her hands in the hospital sink. She looked like she just got out of an operation, her mask and surgical cap were still on. "Yup. Magagalit sa'kin si Lexi if mag-pass na naman ako. How about you?"

"I'm going, I have no flights for the next three days so I'm free."

"Wow, uso pala rest days sa'yo 'no?" She arched her brow.

I gave her a shrug, opening my bedroom door to place my luggage in my walk-in closet. "Sumusunod lang ako sa utos mo."

"Good. Kakauwi mo lang ba?" Tanong niya habang tinatanggal ang mask at cap niya.

"Yes, I just got home from Japan. Ikaw? Kakatapos lang ng surgery?"

She smiled brightly and nodded.

"How was it?"

"The surgery was a success but the patient still has recovering to do. He had a stroke kaya hindi pa namin sure kung anong magiging outcome 'pag nagising siya. What if I'm not good enough to help him?" She sighed.

"You're a great surgeon, Gabby. I'm sure kahit ano ang maging outcome, you'll still be able to care for your patient well." I placed my phone on my desk so I could move while talking to her.

"Thank you. I just hope tama 'yung sinasabi mo."

"It is. You have to trust yourself, Gabby."

She smiled at me. "I do."

I licked my lips. "I'm hoping to hear that again on a different scenario." I grinned.

She wrinkled her nose, shaking her head. "I do agad wala pa ngang proposal?"

I raised my brow. "So, you're waiting for me to propose? Is that the only thing I have to do for you to love me again?"

She shifted uncomfortably. "That was a joke, Mason."

"Well, I'm not joking. I still love you, Gabby, alam mo 'yan."

She shook her head. "You shouldn't."

I ignored her. "Hindi mo na ba ako mahal, Gab?"

"Mason..."

"Marry me."

"I can't believe you're proposing through VC." She rolled her eyes.

"I'll do it face to face. I can do it in public too. Saan mo ba gusto? Sabihin mo lang, I'm ready."

She smiled weakly. "I'm not."

I removed my polo, throwing it in the hamper as I talk to Gabby. Her eyes went down on my chest and I saw her bit her lip. Time to change the game.

"Do you really think you can seduce me into saying yes?" She gulped.

"Ikaw lang naman nagiisip niyan, I'm just changing my clothes." I said innocently.

She rolled her eyes. "I know you, Mason."

I smirked. "I know you, too."

"Ugh! Drop the call na nga. I still need to go to the Recovery Room to check for my patients."

"Okay. I'll see you later?"

She nodded, biting her lower lip. "Bye." She said as she hung up.
