Flight MG-009: Left Behind

Mason removed his suit coat and vest. He also removed his neck tie, and opened the top buttons of his white dress shirt.

I retouched my make up to cover my puffy eyes and hide the streaks of tears on my face.

Nasa loob na kami ng White Hall ngayon dahil malapit nang magsimula ang after-party. Mason was holding my right hand when we entered the ballroom area.

Marami nang tao sa loob at siksikan na rin dahil nga hinihintay na nila magperform ang Lux. Pinagtitinginan kami ni Mason ng mga nakakakita sa amin. Siguro ay nagtataka sila kung bakit kami magkasama.

Agad nanlaki ang mga mata nila Gia nang makita kaming dalawa na magkahawak ng kamay.

"Hoy, anong kalokohan 'yan?" Sabi ni Gia at tinuro ang kamay namin.

Mason gave her a small smile and squeezed my hand.

I glanced at him and I saw a peaceful, and calm expression on his face. Unlike kanina habang nagju-judge siya sa pageant his face was hard to read.

I bit my lower lip. "We're... um, okay na." I replied.

"Kaya pala ang tagal mong nawala, may kababalaghan nang nangyayari." Sabi naman ni Jules.

"About fucking time! Didn't know that a month's worth of tears can be solved with just a few hours of talking." Sabi naman ni Lexi. "I don't want to see her cry again, naiintindihan mo?" Sinamaan niya ng tingin si Mason.

"I don't wanna see her cry, too." He answered softly.

"Good thing we're on the same page. Kasi 'pag naulit pa 'yan, I'll hunt you down kahit nasaan ka pa." Pagbabanta nito.

Dapat na atang matakot si Mason dahil dalawang kaibigan ko na ang nagbabanta sa kaniya. First, Gia said she would castrate him. Now it's Lexi.

'Wag na sana umabot pa kay Jules.

Kasi mas matindi ang mother bear namin.

"So, what's your status?" Tanong ni Gia at pinagkrus ang mga braso.

I shook my head and frowned at her.

Mason suddenly snaked his arm around my waist to pull me closer to his body.

"We're working on it, but I'm not going to let her go again." Sagot niya.

My face heated and I tried to stop myself grinning, but I failed.

I saw Jules smiled knowingly at me when she saw my reaction.

I just smiled back at her.

"I have to go to the backstage, I need to check the flow first. Baka nagkakagulo na sila roon. Babalik din ako kaagad." Sabi ko.

"I'll go with you." Mason said.

Pumunta na kami sa backstage. Mason was silently following behind me wherever I go. Ilang paikot-ikot din ang nagawa ko dahil kinakamusta ko lahat ng mga magpeperform. I briefed the floor directors and the runners again about the program flow so they wouldn't get lost. They gave me a radio walkie talkie headset so we could communicate through it while I was in the crowd. Pagkatapos ay pumunta na ako sa dressing room ng Lux.

Their manager opened the door after I knocked.

"Hi!" Pagbati ko sa kanila.

"Hey!" Sunod sunod na pagbati ng Lux.

"Hi, how are you doing?" I asked no one in particular. Tapos na silang magbihis at ayusan kaya nagpra-practice na lang sila sa gilid ng kwarto.

Tumayo ang lead vocalist ng Lux na si Archer at lumapit sa'kin.
