Pauwi na ako ngayon galing sa duty at nagpapalit na ng damit sa loob ng dressing room sa ICU. It's already two o'clock in the afternoon and I just finished an eight-hour morning shift.
Friday na ngayon at nag-promise si Mason na we will spend time together during his two-day off at work.
Kinuha ko ang bag ko at lumabas na ng dressing room. I saw Dr. Riego standing outside and was against the wall. Nakahubad na ang white coat niya at nakasuot na lang ng polo at pants.
"Hi, Dr. Riego, uuwi na po kayo?" Tanong ko sabay sinara ang pinto.
"Just call me Carlos. At pauwi na rin ako. How about you?"
"Nakakahiya naman po Doc, hindi po ako sanay na pangalan niyo lang itatawag ko. Doc Carlos na lang po." I awkwardly said. "Opo, Doc, pauwi na rin po ako."
"Have you had lunch?" Tanong niya.
"Kanina po nung lunch break."
"That was three hours ago. Kain tayo sa labas gusto mo?" He asked.
I frowned. This conversation is getting more and more uncomfortable.
"Um, may sundo po kasi ako ngayon, Doc." Pagtanggi ko.
"Hindi ba pwedeng mamaya ka na magpasundo?"
Fuck, why was he so persistent?
"Hindi po, Doc, e. Kanina pa po kasi naghihintay yung boyfriend ko sa baba." I said and emphasized the word 'boyfriend'.
Loyal ako kay Mason, sorry.
"Oh," sabi niya. "Right, of course. Well, enjoy your day. I'll go ahead, first." Ngumiti siya at naglakad na paalis.
Nakahinga ako ng maluwag at bigla naman lumabas si Gia sa dressing room.
"What was that about?" Tanong niya.
"You heard it?"
She nodded. "I was eavesdropping." She rolled her eyes.
I scrunched up my face and shook my head.
"He likes you? Lagot ka na naman kay Lianne niyan." Natatawang sabi niya. Naglalakad na kami palabas ng ospital ngayon.
"Sus, sa kaniya na 'yon. My hands are full with my sexy pilot." I smirked.
"Sana all."
"Sana all? E, ang dami ngang nakapila sa'yo, ikaw lang 'di pumapansin sa kanila."
"It's because they don't meet my standards. I'm not going to settle for less, I'm Gianna Cordovez and I deserve the best, thank you very much."
"That's the Gia I know." I grinned at her.
We reached the exit and I saw Mason standing outside, beside his car.
"Sige na, mauna ka na." Sabi sa akin ni Gia. "Mageenjoy kami nila Jules kahit wala ka!"
"Hey! 'Wag niyo akong kalimutan!"
"Umalis ka na, naghihintay na bebe boy mo sa labas."
I kissed her cheek. "Okay, bye. Have a nice weekend! Love you!
"Love you, too!" Sigaw niya ng makalayo na ako.
Pagkalabas ko ay dali dali akong tumakbo palapit sa kaniya at tumalon para yakapin siya. He caught me easily and I wrapped my legs around his waist.
"I missed you so much." I said and burried my face on his neck.
He smells like home.
"I missed you, too, baby." He whispered as he tightened his hold on me.
