A journey to change Autumn

After my mom told us the bad news I ran up to my room and cried into my pillow.
What are we going to do without money coming in?
We have trouble already.
Will we become homeless? All of these thoughts circle in my head. I decide to go back down stairs to see my mom and Luke talking. They look up when they see me come in. Luke also has tears in his eyes.
"Autumn" my mom says sadly

"is it true?" I ask.

My mom just nods. Another wave of tears come but I don't let them spill out because my nose hurts to much to sniff. I come over to my mom and sit next to her.
"I know you guys must be worrying about what will happen to us." She starts," I have arranged for you guys to go and live with your Aunt Mia and Uncle Adam for the rest of the school year and maybe even summer. It all depends on if and when I get a job. Then once I get back on my feet. You can come back."

"What about you?" Luke asks.

"I will stay here and look for a new job."

"And Nala?" He asks again.

"She will go with you. " Mom says.

"But they live all the way in California and we are here in North Carolina." I state.

"Yes they do. you guys will be traveling there by plane." Mom says.

"When?" Luke asks.

"You are leaving tomorrow night." she says.

"NO!" Luke screams. " What about all of my friends?"

" I am sorry Luke but you will have to say good bye to them." With that Luke leaves and slams his door leaving just me and mom.
"Autumn"
"yes"
"what do you think?"
"I don't know yet. I am happy to see aunt Mia and uncle Adam,but I don't want to leave you mom."
"It isn't going to be like this for long so I will see you again. Just always know I am doing this for you and it will be for the best. ok? "
"Ok. I will go pack now. " I say and leave. When I go up the steps I replay the scene that just happened downstairs. Going to my room I hear sobs coming from Luke's room.

"Luke?" I ask as I knock on his door.

"Go away autumn"

"I just wanted to say I don't know why you have always hated me but whatever happens I will always be there for you. Plus you need to start packing. " I say. Then the sobs stop and the door opens revealing Luke with tears in his eyes. he walks up to me and looks like he is going to hurt me. Instead he gives me a huge hug.
"I have never hated you Autumn, I love you so much sis." This brings tears to my eyes.
"I love you to Luke" I say and truly mean.
"Thanks" he says.
"Welcome. Now go and pack" I say. He turns around and shuts his door. I continue down the hall and go into my room. I pack most of my stuff up then lay on my bed. I lie thinking about the future when I fall asleep, exhausted from today.

When I wake up to my alarm I remember everything that happened last night. I get up and take a shower and then get dressed. I go down stairs and eat. After I get ready I walk to school. Dreading my last day of school here I go into class. After what happened yesterday in the bathroom I decided to go earlier than yesterday. When I get to the restroom and open the door I am greeted by Mack and her gang.
Really?
"Look who's here girls. " Mack says. "Surprised she showed up today. Guess she didn't learn her lesson from yesterday. " She says.
"Should we teach it again?" Then all at once fists go flying at me. I get hit in the temple, arms, stomach, and the worse was my nose in the same spot as yesterday. Now I know it is definitely broken.
"See you tomorrow. " Mack says as they leave. Once I know they are gone I whisper to myself
"no you won't". After a few minutes I leave and go back to class. The rest of the day goes by quick. When I get home I finish packing and get ready to leave. When we get to the airport we say bye to mom and bring Nala to the pet center.
"Flight 1267 now boarding"
that's our flight. Luke and I get on the plane and head to California. I sit back and get ready for a long flight.
