My dad says we are going to the woods today and to the lake. I love the lake. We can swim and fish there. I eat my breakfast quickly because I am too excited to stay calm. Luke and mom are gone at grandma's so it is just me and daddy all day. I go get dressed in my bathing suit and go downstairs. I see daddy on the phone with someone and is sitting on the couch. I go and sit in his lap. I love my daddy so much. He always helps me with my homework, takes me places all the time, and gets me gifts. He gets off the phone and picks me up. "Ready to go sweetheart?" he asks me. I nod really big so he will take me there as fast as he can. He sets me down and goes to get his shoes on. He comes back and takes me to the car. He puts me in the backseat and helps me buckle up. He walks around the car and gets in the driver seat. I am only nine years old so I can't sit in the front yet. We drive all the way to the lake. When we get to the lake I run down and wait for dad. He is pretty slow. Daddy teaches me how to skip rocks and how to fish. He caught five fish and I caught two. We have a wonderful picnic and swim some more. Once the sun starts to set we get out and dry off. This was the best, most amazing, and most wonderful day ever. We start to pack up every thing when the sun finishes setting. We put it all back in the car and head home. On the way home we were at a red light. My dad looked away for a second when a mack truck came and hit us head on. "DADDY" I screamed but it was already to late. "DADDY. NO DADDY NO." I continue to scream. "Autumn." no it can't be happening. "Autumn wake up." I want my dad.

I sit up really fast and almost hit heads with McKenna. I realize I am sweating and crying. "Autumn. It's ok autumn. It was only dream." "no it wasn't. My dad died." I say as I bring my knees to my chest and rock back and forth. She hugs me tight and says it's ok. She soon then falls asleep. I look at the clock. 3:24. Ugh. This time though I don't go back to sleep.
