For a moment, I was unaware of my surrounding. I was lost in my head.

"Miss Alabi" he called snapping his fingers in my face.

"Miss Alabi" he called again.

I blinked.

"Sir" I gasped

"Are you alright? For a moment there I thought we lost you" he said puzzled.

"I'm fine sir"

"Are you sure?" He asked bothered.

"Yes sir, I was just a bit startled when the cup broke. It's nothing sir"

"You are sure?"

"Yes sir" I smiled.

"If you say so. What is it you wanted to say to me?"

"Oh yes, I was able to get the client back. The one whose presentation, I missed. I planned to set up a meeting with them on Monday and deliver my pitch"

"Well that is great, sharp but great. Very impressive Miss Alabi"

Was that a compliment.

"Thank you sir"

"You are welcome"

I got the client back, isn't he going to release me from this stupid overtime. I never even liked overtime with the payment. My pay is good.

"Anything else?" He asked when he noticed I was still standing there.

"Well sir I was wondering since I was able to get them to still sign with us maybe.... "

"No"

Wow take a chill pill sir, you didn't even let me finish.

"But sir.."

"No Miss Alabi, you almost caused us a big client. You should be thankful I let you off the hook that easily. So you'll continue with the overtime without payment for the rest of the month. If that's all, you may leave"

Wow he really is in a bad mood today.

"Okay sir thank you sir"

"Call the cleaner, so she could come clean up this mess"

"Okay sir" I replied and rushed to my office.

Ifeoma was still nowhere to be found.

"Ogechi, has Ifeoma return?

" Yes, she just left for the storage room "

"Okay thanks" I replied and rushed to the storage room.

"Ify" I called when I saw her.

"Ireti, what are you doing down here"

"I had an incident, actually it's the second one today but this time it was in the boss's office, his cup broke and the noise startled me. He probably thinks I'm insane cos for few minutes it was like I was unconscious" I rushed my words in way I had to stop to catch my breath.
