Chapter three

"You must be the girl Ryder is so eager to get" Colby says I look at him "ya so your never going to get me" I say he raises an eyebrow "she's fiesty I like it" Corey says I glare at him I look back at Colby "you don't know do you" he says I look at him confused "know what" Kat says answering for me he smirks a little "that's not my place to tell" he says I clench my fist "what are you really doing here" Brennen says Colby looks at him "you know what I'm here for I'm here to make sure she doesn't do anything stupid" Colby says pointing to me I finally loose it and pin him against the wall "want me to do something stupid because I will and you want to know what that will be delivering your head to Ryder" I say he smirks "then it will deliver a message to stay away from me and my family" I say he laughs he now has me pinned against the wall his hands above my head "I've been doing this a lot longer then you I know how this all ends so test me if you should but I won't hesitate to kill you" he says I smirk "you wouldn't" I say he leans in my breathing slows down god why does this feel so weird "I'm not scared of anybody not you not Ryder no one" he whispers in my ear I lean in "then do whatever to me I don't care because I also know how this all ends" I say and push him off and walk towards the others "it's on" I hear him say I turn around "good" I say and continue walking "you ok" Kat says hugging me "ya I'm fine" I say as we pull away "are we not going to talk about that it literally looked like they had a moment" Noah says I glare at him "Noah say one more word and I will hurt you very very badly" I say he raises his hands in defense "alright" he says we walk to class but I can't stop thinking about what happened earlier I mean what is dad not telling us why does Ryder want me so badly and Colby like come on we are mortal enemies ya he's cute like super cute and his eyes look like the—what no snap out of it what am I thinking ok concentrate think of something else ya that should do it.

"Hey you coming" Kat says I didn't realize the bell rang I get up and we walk to my next we part ways I go in and I freeze at who I see oh hell no "well we meet again" he says as I sit next to him I roll my eyes not saying or looking at him "ignoring me now" he says I sigh and glare at him "one we are not friends so don't even think about two I know what your doing your trying to charm just so maybe I will go and give in and join Ryder but you can tell him this I'm never going to betray my family" I say he raises an eyebrow "you just know everything don't you" he says I roll my eyes and look away it's silent the rest of the class period as soon as the bell rings I get up and go out "I'm not trying to charm" he whispers in my ear and walks off I scoff and go to my locker I open it I can't go through this day anymore it's to much and it's only 5th period I need to get out of here I grab the books I'll need for homework I slam my locker shut "someone's buttons out pushed" Brennen says I roll my eyes and start walking to the door "woah where are you going" he says grabbing my arm stopping me I take a deep breathe "I'm going anywhere but here" I say looking at him he looks down at me with a raised eyebrow "it's to much I mean Colby's in one of my classes he thinks he can charm me just so maybe just maybe I will join Ryder and it's bothering me that maybe my dad isn't telling us something so I need to figure out what it is" I say he puts his hands on my shoulders "ok it sounds like you need to cool off you need to clear your head" he says I look at him "go home I will stay here and tell Kat and them why you went home we will be there after school ok" he says I nod "ok" I say he hugs me I hug back we pull away and I go to my car I get in throw my bag in the back I then leave and head home.

I pull into the driveway and park I get out lock it and go in I hang and set my bag and keys down "dad" I yell no answer I go towards the studio and hear music playing "dad" I say and go in he looks at me he stops it "hey sweetheart" he says I can tell he's not ok "why are you home early" he says I go over and sit in the chair beside him "Colby and his gang of friends confronted us today more specifically me" I say as I lean against console "what" he says I nod "I had to get away clear my head" I say he looks at me I look at him "was that mom" I say he nods "ya before she died we started recording this song she wrote" he says handing me her song book I read the lyrics and flip the pages "can I keep this" I say looking at him "ya I was hoping maybe someday you can finish filling it in" he says flipping to the blank page I look at it then at him I then get an idea "I need to clear my head so do you think it might be possible to finish that song" I say he nods "ya she would like that" he says smiling a little "get in there" he says I get up and go in the sound room I put on the headphones he gives me a thumbs up and I start to sing the lyrics.

This feels nice it feels right I feel like mom would be proud of what I've become I feel like she's right with me and she always will be.
