"You are in perfect health but your bloodwork came back positive for these genes known as the serial killer genes" she says I tense this can't be happening "these are very rate but do you know anyone in your family that might of inherited them" she says I shake my head "no I don't" I say lying straight to her face "ok well that will be all call if you need us" she says I get up and leave "so"Kat says as I walk out "let's go" I say we get in her car "I tested positive Kat I have the genes" I say she looks at me then back at the road "we need to tell them" she says I nod "I know" I say the rest of the ride is silent we pull into the school parking lot and we get out and go in "so you guys missed 1st and 2nd period why" Devyn says as she hands us our work I look at Kat she nods I sigh "follow me" I say to everyone we go in this empty classroom "so what up" Carson says I lean against the desk "I went to go get tested for something that's why we were late" I say Brennen looks at me "Ryder has these genes called the serial killer genes and we suspected that she might have them as well" Kat says "I have the genes" I say they all look at each other then at me "well that explains why he wants you specifically you" Brennen says I nod "but Ryder wants me to kill my father because he thinks it will bring out the true me" I say "where did you get that information from" Noah says I look at him then glance at Kat then at Devyn she shakes her head "a source" I say Brennen looks at me not convinced "look I know this is a lot to take in but we really need to trust each other right now we are stronger together and we need to be on high alert" Kat says "I agree" Devyn says I look at her she winks "ya she's right we are strong nothing can get in between us" Tyler says I chuckle "guys we better get to class" Noah says we nod agreeing we go and head to our next class.

I am walking to my 6th hour I feel someone wrap there arms around me and cover my mouth I try to pry away but my arms are pinned "just come with me" a voice says I recognize that voice we go out of the building and to his car he uncovers my mouth and let's me go "I could of killed you" I say he chuckles "but you didn't" he says I glare at him "I could of" I say he rolls his eyes "why did you bring me out here" I say and lean against the car "why did you hang up so quickly earlier" he says I look away "and don't lie to me" he says I roll my eyes "I know why Ryder is after me" I say not looking at him but he looks at me confused "why" he says "have you ever heard of the serial killer genes" I say he shakes his head no "well it's basically like a darker version of that person well Ryder inherited them and so did I" I say he leans against the car he's silent for a bit "that explains it" he says I look at him confused "he wants you because he knows you have the genes so therefore he wants you to kill your father thinking that it will trigger something that darker part of you" he says I nod "you aren't seeing where I'm going with this" I say and look away he looks at me "I'm scared Colby I'm scared that I'm going to turn into him" I say and shake my head "I'm scared I'm going to go down this dark path or I'm going to give into this darkness I have and I'm not going to be able to pull myself out" I say he puts a finger under my chin he turns my head so I can look at him "you aren't Ryder your nothing like him your kind you care for others and just not yourself and your beautiful you also have hope" he says I look at him he's looking down at me "if you go down that dark path I can promise you this I will pull you out of it and you Tessa Stuart will never go down that path" he says I don't say anything his eyes travel down to my lips I find mine doing the same he starts to lean in I find my self doing the same and soon our lips collide I close my eyes and feel the sparks go through my body I wrap my arms around his neck he wraps his arms around my waist bringing me closer but then I realize what I'm doing "wait" I say pulling away he looks at me confused "I can't" I say he raises an eyebrow "why because your scared of what they might think or they will try to kill me" he says I shake my head "no maybe the second one" I say he chuckles "then what's holding you back" he says and rests a hand in my cheek "everything" I say he looks away "so we can make it work hell we can even keep us a secret" he says I can't help but smile but it soon fades "I know but you know it too" I say he lets me go "so what Tess I want you I want to be with you" he says and shakes his head I am quiet for a bit I then get an idea "meet me at the Hollywood sign later tonight" I say he looks at me "just think about it" he says and walks off I sigh and go to Kats car I lean against it I run a hand through my hair "I fucked up again" I say I hear the last bell ring and soon see Kat walk out "he—" she starts to say but she pulls me into a hug and I burst into tears "what happened" she says I don't say anything we stand there for a bit I start to calm down she pulls away "let's get you home then we can talk ok" she says I nod I go get in she does too and she leaves.

I fucked up badly I wanted to just say it I want him too I want you too but no I had to let my own fear get in the way I'm afraid that if he gets close to me Ryder will find out and I will drag him into this I mean he's already deep into this but still I don't want him going down this path with me what if he can't pull me out I'm a mess a big mess.
