SYNOPSIS

He is comfortably leaning on my right shoulder while holding my hand tightly as if he will never let go of that - forever. But after a while, he loosens his grip and tried to get on his feet. Unfortunately, his muscles are still weak, preventing him to stand. 


"I have to tell you something," he said with his now husky voice.


"I'm listening," I answered while rubbing my fingers against his messy hair.


"Can I just write it?" he asked instead.


"Sure," I answered anxiously. 


He used his index finger to write letters and then words until a sentence was legibly written on the sand.  I can't hold back my tears while reading it. 


"There," he said softly then he holds my hands again. "I love you."


"I love you too," I answered truthfully then granted him a kiss on his head. 


This blissful scenery is totally contrary to the story of my life. It has been a rough road and full of uncertainty and misfortune. But at least, I managed to annihilate those parasitic doubts and fears that consume me every time I face my battles.


 I'm able to utilize the remnants of those as my stairway to the peak of my successes. And I never had any piece of lamentation for taking those risks and actions. Instead, I'm gratified by its results. Now, finally, I can relish the grandiosity of the setting sun, without any fear and hesitations,  together with the most important person in my life. 


But little did we know, the sun isn't going to set alone that day.
