The pen between my fingers, tapping. The hands of the clock behind me, ticking. I looked at the folder at my desk, I blinked once before sighing.

"I can't take this project, Engineer."

Ibinalik ko kay Kai yung folder na ipinakita niya. I went back to work on my laptop about some designs. Napansin ko na hindi pa rin umaalis itong kaibigan ko kaya ay tinaasan ko siya ng kilay.

"Can you not set aside your personal feelings for a project?" She teased. Not even being sarcastic.

"Excuse me. I'm a busy person. I already have 8 on-going projects, marami naman ibang architect."

Tinulak ko ulit sa kaniya yung folder nang ilapit niya muli 'yon. She scoffed at naupo sa sofa sa harap ng lamesa ko. She was scanning through the folder at parang ipinapahalatang maganda ang laman noon.

"I'm the engineer, if that helps?" She gave me puppy eyes.

"Whatever. But I'll have to think of it." I rolled my eyes at her. "Just for your sake! Para naman magkaroon ka ng projects." Ngumisi ako, nang aasar.

"Hey! Hey! Don't get so full of yourself." She raised a brow. "Anyway, do you have any plans for tonight?" She suddenly asked.

I checked my wrist watch to see what time it is before checking the calendar on my desk. I actually have no important meetings left, just some plates to finish.

"I have office hours until 3 p.m."

"Alright! I'll gather up the girls for a drink!"

Mabilis itong naglaho sa paningin ko dahil lumabas na siya ng opisina ko. Iniwan niya yung folder nung project sa lamesa. I grabbed it at pinagmasdan ko yung front cover.

'Enriquez Hospitals for the Public'

It was a project proposal. Inside states the needed standards to meet in the main building. How many floors, how many rooms for patient accommodations and the special rooms for operations and more of that medical stuff.

I sighed and read through it. It was actually a good project. Not only that the Enriquez are building another hospital, this is actually a public hospital which means that it is free.

Just think of this. If you accept the project you might save a life in the future.

"Ay self! Stop debating you look dumb!" I slapped myself in the face.

Tinapos ko na yung ilang plates at sinubmit ko iyon sa email ng mga clients for confirmation. After they confirm and once they're satisfied with the design I can finally pass it to the engineers and contractors.

Just like what Kai said, she would gather the girls up for a drink. We went to her condo because she was too lazy to reserve seats in a club.

"So? Have you thought about it??" Tanong ni Kai.

"Ayan architect din, oh." I pointed at Nala.

"Hoy, wag niyo akong dinadamay." Nagdepensa agad siya. "Busy ako." She smirked.

I rolled my eyes. "Bakit ka pa sa kumpanya namin pumasok??" Nakakunot ang noo kong tanong kay Kai.

She chuckled. "Just tell me if you're not going to comply," she drank a shot of tequila without any chasers.
