"I heard patient mo last night si Tito Rob,"

She sat down in front of me on the dining table at pinaghanda naman siya ng mga helper ng pagkain.

"What are you doing here?" I raised a brow at her. "You are supposed to be at work–"

"And I'm supposed to persuade your ex to accept the project." She finished my sentence. "Tito sent me an email last night. He said that he personally reached out to Architect García."

I cleared my throat when I heard her name. I remember how I got to meet her personally again last night after a long time. I can't deny that she became more mature and looked very professional.

"I met her last night," I said while staring at my food.

"Oh, really?!" Kaileigh sounded excited and when I looked at her she was already smirking. "I wonder if she'll be having a bad mood later," she chuckled before standing up when my Dad came.

"Good morning, Kai." "The construction will start on Saturday. Good luck, Engineer."

"Copy that, Doc!"

"Whatever," I rolled my eyes before she got out of the house.

I stood up and bid my farewell to Dad because I'm done eating. I grabbed my brown Gucci briefcase sling bag from the sofa before I went out. I rolled my eyes when I saw Kai leaning against her car. She looked like she was waiting for me.

"What?" Irritation filled my voice.

"You're supposed to be at your house," she held her chin and acted like she was thinking. "Anyway! I think Ate Kat already sent the helpers you wanted for the house. I'll go now!"

I just shook my head and got in my car and went to the hospital.

"Good morning, Dr. Enriquez!"

"Morning, Doc!" Nakangiting bungad din ni Nile.

"Free day," I shrugged my shoulders.

"Nope!" Anjela snapped her fingers in front of me. "Checkups."

I reviewed my schedule of checkups. I noticed that I'm not the one in charge of checkups for Salena's Dad. Napakunot ang noo ko dahil doon. I'm the one who operated on him, why can't I be the one who checks up on him?

I sent an email to Nile saying that I want to change schedule. Specifically Mr. García's checkup schedule. Anjela is the other one in-charge and since Nile agreed I will be going with her.

"Still hoping she'd come?" Nang aasar na tanong ni Anjela.

Our last visit for the day is done. It's not like I'm waiting for someone to arrive.

"I'm not hoping for anyone," I scoffed at her before walking to my office to grab my things.

The next day is Friday and I was not surprised to see Salena when I and Anjela went to check on her father. Kaileigh gave me her best friend's work schedule even though I did not ask.

My brows furrowed when I saw the small scratches on her knee. Did she become clumsy?

I secretly followed her downstairs and when I saw her about to put a bandage on her wound I quickly went to her and helped her. I couldn't look at her for a moment because she was staring so I just focused on cleaning her wound.
