"W-Will that be necessary?"
I could already feel tears falling from my eyes. Hindi na sila mahinto.
"Her ribcage is damaged and her spine is..."
"C-Can I see her?" I said crying. "Please?" Pagmamakaawa ko.
Tumango yung doctor at sinabayan akong maglakad.
"B-Baby,"
I brushed her hair wala na akong pakialam kung madaplisan ng dugo ang kamay ko.
"Do you want to rest, baby?" I asked her like she would answer.
She was breathing heavily. All I could see in her eyes was pain.
"Bakit ngayon pa?" I tried to hug her pero pinigilan ako ng mga nurse.
I could see tears coming from my dog's eyes. It shattered my heart into million pieces. How could an innocent dog suffer like this? I almost screamed her name when she started shaking. Ica pulled me away and the doctors instantly checked on her. May tinurok sila at agad tumigil ang panginginig nito.
"She's in pain," ani ng Doctor.
"I don't want her to suffer more," I sobbed. "Please... God!"
I hugged her while they injected the medicine that will put her to rest. Until her last breath she was still trying to lick my hand.
"Be my guardian angel, baby." I kissed her head. "See you in heaven."
I never stopped crying that day.
"Why?! It could have been me! Sana ako na lang!" I was on the floor, mourning. "I'm sorry, nagkulang ako sa oras."
I wish I was there para napigilan ko siyang tumakbo palabas. I wish I was there para naharangan ko yung sasakyan. I wish I was there para sana ngayon ay nakakatakbo pa siya at nakikipaglaro sa akin.
"H-Hello,"
"Where are you?!" It was Nala.
"At my... condo." I was still sobbing so hard.
Binabaan ako ni Nala ng tawag. Alam ko na papunta na siya dito. I know she would be angry.
"Mika, I swear I'm going to be mad!"
"What happened?" Napalitan ang galit niyang boses ng pag-aalala.
I shook my head. I couldn't speak. It wasn't just a dog. She was my like a family, she's part of my family. I couldn't speak properly dahil doon. It was still fresh, it just happened like a few hours ago.
