Chapter Seventy Eight

I'm currently talking to Chelsea. I'm trying to calm her down. Sobrang nag-aalala siya sa pinsan niyang hanggang ngayon wala pa ring malay. We already talked to the doctor earlier and thankfully she and her baby are okey.

I know what you're thinking, I shouldn't be here. This woman is none of my business. But she passed out in front of us earlier and I just want to make sure na hindi na ito mangyari ulit. Like I said, I'm done running and hiding. Gusto kong ayusin lahat ng problema namin ngayon pa lang habang di pa kami kinakasal ni Terrence. I don't want us to just leave everything behind and move on. Ignoring a problem never solves it.

"I'm really sorry about this. I didn't know you already met before. If I knew, I wouldn't have brought her to the apartment." naiiyak na wika ni Chelsea. "She's been through a lot this couple months. She doesn't want to talk about it but she's been in a very abusive relationship for 3 years and only recently did she gain strength to break up with his boyfriend. Her boyfriend was so controlling and he kept stalking her even after they broke up. He threatened Jane and he tried to hurt her a couple times. That's actually the reason she's here. She wanted to run and hide from him. She knows that if that asshole finds out she's pregnant, he'll use it to bring her back to him again."

Nagpatuloy sa pagkwento si Chelsea. Hindi ako makapaniwala sa mga naririnig ko. I mean, I didn't know she's in a relationship that time she was Terrence's secretary. Hindi ko maintindihan. Like... Why? Why did she do that if she was in a relationship? And the fact that it was abusive, parang nilagay niya lang sa panganib ang sarili niya kung nalaman ng boyfriend niya na nakikipaglandian siya sa iba. I don't know, man. Hindi ko maintindihan ang mga nangyayari... But... But if she was indeed in a relationship, that just proved that the baby is not Terrence's, right?

"Months ago, Jane called me and told me she found a way to get rid of Patrick. I didn't really understand it at first but then she said she met a guy who's... Who's better than Patrick and she just needs him to fall in love with her and then he might help him with her situation. I felt hope for her until I found out that the man's engage with someone else... I... I didn't know you're the woman the man is engaged with. I tried to talk Jane out of it but she didn't listen and she went on with her plans. I... I'm really sorry, Isabella. I know she made a big mistake but... But I hope you'll forgive her. Hindi talaga ma-process ng utak ko ang mga sinabi ni Chelsea. I mean, that Jane woman tried to use Terrence kahit na alam niyang may ka-relasyon ito para lang makaalis siya sa sitwasyon niya. Hindi ko alam kung anong klaseng logic yun pero... Ugh! Ewan! I understand that she was desperate but after hearing all these, I just hate her more... But look, I'm trying to understand. Hindi ko siya susugurin sa loob ng hospital room niya para sabunutan siya, promise.

I mean, hindi ako tanga. Hindi ko siya sinisisi sa lahat ng nangyari sa amin ni Terrence. I mean, she was part of the reason why I left pero una pa lang, problematic na naman talaga ang relasyon namin dati. We started by using each other. I used Terrence too. Hindi ako iba sa mga babaeng dumaan sa buhay niya and I feel guilty about that. Hindi lang si Terrence ang may malaking kasalanan sa relasyon namin dati. I tried to ruin his company too. I mean, yes, he ruined my father's company first pero mali pa rin ang ginawa namin ni Yohan.

Noong lumabas na lahat ng katotohanan, mas lalo lang naging magulo ang relasyon namin. He became really possessive and I lost myself for awhile. I was a mess. We were both a mess. We became really selfish. Ni hindi na namin naisip na naaapektuhan na rin si Megan. Nasasayangan ako sa mga buwang lumipas na hindi namin kasama ang isa't isa but at the same time, I believe we needed that seperation. We needed that break from each other to think and to clear our heads and to realize our mistakes and our shortcomings.
