He wasn't here.

Jungkook looked through the closet to see if his coat was hanging.

"This is Jimin's room," I said, walking past him. "He might have kept it elsewhere."

I knocked on the next room, Jin's room. No reply.

"I'm coming in," I said as Jungkook came outside.

We both entered the empty room. The room was kept dark with all the curtains shut, but it was glaringly empty.

Shit. Why am I always a step late? I concentrated on my breathing to try and clear my head. Jungkook checked the empty hangers on the closet. How long had it been since I last saw Jin? I hadn't seen Taehyung all day.

"Let's go," he said. "They must have left on foot at least for a considerable distance." Carriages didn't really come over here since most people living here had their own. We might still make it if they hadn't gotten lucky and hitched a ride.

I nodded.

"Get your coat."

I agreed as I hurried to my room. "Kook, are you on duty?" I asked carefully. He was following right behind me.

"Yeah," he asked questioningly.

I grabbed father's dagger and placed it in the pocket of my dress, which was padded enough to hide it.

"Might need a gun," I replied. "Can you drive a carriage?"

I looked back at him as he didn't answer as I slipped into a coat arm. He seemed unsettled that he might have to use his gun. "Not as fast Moonbyul," he answered and helped me with my coat.

I nodded. I knocked on Joon's room and entered it without waiting for a reply.

"Byul," I urgently said. "We need the carriage real quick."

Byul quickly stood up while Joon was still startled.

"Tae isn't here," I quickly explained looking at Joon. "Byulie, you'll need a coat."

"It's downstairs," she replied.
