I woke up with the worst pain I had ever had in my life."Fuck," I let out.
"Oh. She is up," Byul's voice came.
"Do you want me to sedate her?" Joon asked. He was worried. He was a bit skirmish around blood, and there was bound to be a lot of that.
"No, I am almost done. It's just she is regenerating quickly. I can't get the bullet out."
"Get it out from the other side," I said. I tried sitting up. My vision finally focused.
Joon helped me up. Byul fumbled around my thigh which was draped and bloody, shooting pain all the way up my spine.
I flinched as she probably hit some nerves or the other.
"Got it," Byul said exuberantly as she plopped the bullet on a tray. Joon quickly brought clean water to wash off the wound. They quickly filled syringes and pressure washed the wound.
"Get it from the other side, what kind of advice is that."
"I was delirious, Byul." I looked at the wound which was quickly closing up. No big arteries injured. "Can I pull back?" I asked.
"Few more minutes," Joon analysed. Byul was pushing all the tissues together so it fused together correctly and cutting a few misaligned ones.
"The things I have to do," Byul whined as she carefully leveled the tissue.
Joon winced at all the blood surrounding it. "Does it hurt?" He asked.
"Yeah, but significantly less than having a bullet inside." I lied back down on the bed. Pain shot up as soon as I touched the bed. "Scar tissue. Too tight," I muttered in pain.
"Move your leg," Byul ordered, raising my leg from the bed.
I arched my back as the pain shot up with the movement. "Can't! Hurts!"
"Don't whine. Namjoon. Fast. Do it for her until she does it on her own."
Joon fumbled to the end of the bed and moved my legs. "Kick in. Kick out," he repeated. I tried sitting up and moving to the side to lessen the pain but it didn't seem to help much.
"Don't move," Byul snapped. "Back straight."
I nodded and focused solely on keeping my back stretched.
"Breathe," she reminded me.
Breathe in. Out. Back straight. Breathe in. Out. Back straight… Fuck. This hurts.
It finally got better. I tried moving on my own. Good.
"How's Jin?"
"Distressed," Joon answered. "He hasn't said a word."
Byul quickly moved about clearing the blood and removing the bloodied sheets. She took almost a bucket of blood with her.
"When was the last time he had blood?" I slowly pulled my wings back.
"Long time ago."
