Moonbyul and Jungkook poured out of the kitchen backdoor. Byul sighed looking at me. "I don't know what I am going to do with you."

I looked down scribbling doodles on the ground with a long stick that I found. "Is Jin going to kill me?"

"Possibly, he took it far better than I imagined."

"He knows Jimin made his own decisions," Joon assured me.

"Taehyung has calmed down too," Jungkook added, but really none of us believed that.

"If you aren't going to sleep, then we can't waste time lounging about," Moonbyul said, taking my stick with an air of authority. She briefly looked at me with concern. "How are you, Gray?"

"Fine, Byul." I hastily replied, putting my now empty hands into my pockets.

"Namjoon and I went to Lady Irene's house to check up on her," Moonbyul continued. She looked at me. "You were right. No-one was allowed inside or out.  It makes more sense now why they were official royal guards as the palace seems to be compromised."

All of us nodded at that.

"Why didn't they just monitor this house or Taehyung's apartment?" Jungkook questioned.

"If they were using royal guards, monitoring this far off would seem suspicious. Also, they might be doing so right now. We haven't received any new messages or sent any either." Byul answered.

"Why Lady Irene?"

"I have been keeping track of Taehyung with her help," I said embarrassed. " It might have alerted them."

"That still leaves us the question, why Taehyung?" Joon said.

I nodded. That had been bothering me a lot.

"Why are you people even staying outside?" Jin's voice came abruptly. "It's cold."

We all looked up from the hurdle we had formed while talking.

Jin rubbed his arms as he walked towards us. "He fell asleep," he said, answering our unvoiced question.

"You." He said motioning to me. "You were stupid. Really stupid."

I nodded. I didn't even need to ask which particular instance he was talking about. In general, I had been stupid.

"You can't use magic like that. We can't just wish away a memory." He sighed. "Magic has consequences, and it's usually bloody ones."

I nodded. I didn't know what exactly he was talking about but a lot of magic did require sacrifices.

"The key is time," he continued. "If something didn't exist in the past or future, then it won't exist now. It's much more difficult to turn the clock backwards as time doesn't flow that way." That left many more questions unanswered than it answered.

Joon looking at my expression said, "There just wasn't a time in the future in which Taehyung forgot about you."

"But he did," I blanked.

"No, he didn't," Jin said. "He didn't just happen to find a vampire like me just walking about. He searched everywhere."
