I slowly pulled my wings back in. Joon was still hugging me. He kept his hand through my hair while humming calmly.
"You alright?" he asked.
"Yeah," I mumbled onto his shoulder.
It was quiet upstairs. Everyone probably went back to their rooms. "Joon, I am going to go to work today. Jungkook seemed like he needed help."
He nodded. "You want me to drive you there?"
"No, I feel like walking."
"Then, eat breakfast first."
I nodded standing up. Joon stood soon afterwards. "I'm gonna go change." I unlocked the door and pulled it open. Joon helped me. "I'll be back in a moment."
I tried being quiet as I went up. I hadn't planned on going to work. Honestly, I would have completed more work by staying here and talking with either Jin or Jimin. There was still a lot I wanted to know.
Thankfully, the hallway was empty. I rushed to my room swiftly closing the door behind me. I just picked the dress I wore the last time, which Moonbyul had put back in the closet.
I heard someone walking in the hallway and a single knock on my door. I instantly stiffened and stayed silent hoping they would go away.
After waiting for some while, there did not seem to be anyone outside anymore so I proceeded getting dressed. I hated doing this myself. Generally, Byul would have helped me, but I hadn't planned on going out today. She would have helped me with the stay. It wasn't that hard to do it myself. I just had difficulty with the lacing as my back was still sore. The prospect of growing wings did mean that all of my stays had to be laced at the back, which just complicated the matter slightly.
I packed few of the records I had to compare and headed out.
I flinched when I saw Taehyung waiting outside. He was leaning on the door opposite mine, Joon's room. I had not expected him to be waiting for me.
"Gray," he started moving away from the door. "We need to talk. It was my fault. I shouldn't have snuck Jimin out this morning and-"
"I understand." I said calming my heart, he had scared me. I didn't feel like openly admitting it, but I was pretty sure he noticed.
"No, Gray. Jin has always been a bit cautious and just moving yesterday-"
"Tae," I stopped him. His eyes jerked up at that.
Oh. "Um, Taehyung, I -"
"No, you can call me Tae. It doesn't sound empty when you say it."
Oh. "Um. Taehyung." I added carefully. "I have to get to work. It's late as it is, already."
I tried moving down the hallway, when he said in a low voice apologetically, "Your neck is bruised."
I turned back, my hand reflexly going to my neck. "It doesn't hurt." I just felt the need to say that as I walked back into my room to look for a scarf.
He looked at me doubtfully. "I'll give you a ride to the station."
"No, I would rather walk." Finally, I found one and wrapped it around me.
"I am heading the same way."
I sighed. "Taehyung, I really don't want to talk today."
"That's fine. Let me just drop you there."
