Jane POV
I walk away from my brother Thomas, he wouldn't quit following me around "Thomas leave me alone." I say and he grabs my wrist "what do you want? To steal my crush away from me." I ask"No. I like Cathy, and she likes me, I know she does." Thomas says and he lets go of my wrist.
"No. She. Doesn't." I say glaring at him, he glares back at me
"Yes. She. Does."
"Leave me alone Thomas." I say and walk into my next class. I sit down next to Cathy, my crush, she gives me a small smile and I smile back at her, my face starting to turn pink.
"You okay? You seem a little mad." Cathy asks, I love how she could easily tell if I was mad.
"Yeah, Thomas is just really, really annoying." I say and she nods, she gives me a small hug, she pulls away blushing slightly. I start blushing at her blushing.
"Is the Jane Seymour blushing at me hugging her?" Cathy asks laughing
"Is the Jane Seymour blushing at me hugging her." I mock her "have you seen your face, you're blushing just as much as I am," I say and she laughs,
"I am not." She says
"Yes you are." I say and the teacher starts talking. I look at Cathy every once in a while, I smile looking at her eyes, they were so pretty. She turns her head to look at me and I quickly turn my head around, I start turning bright red. I write down the math problem and solve it.
After school
"Thomas, I said leave me alone." I say walking through the front door"Then stay away from Cathy, I like her more than you ever will."
"What are you two-" mom starts
"What do you like about her then? I've already expected the fact that she likes you okay! Just tell me what you like about her." I say, I knew that Cathy didn't like me, I had seen the way she looked at Thomas,
"I like her eyes, her smile, her body-"
"Something that's not a physical feature." I cut him off and he goes to talk but stops and thinks, I scoff "see Thomas. You don't like her-" Mom cuts me off
"What are you guys fi-"
"You. Don't. Like. Her. You like her only for her physical features, that's all you ever see in a girl. That's why you can't keep a fucking girlfriend." I say
"Jane Marie Seymour! We don't swear on this house." Dad says
"I don't fucking care anymore!" I shout looking at Dad and Thomas looks at me
"I do like Cathy, I want to be with her." Thomas says, I glare at Thomas
"You wanna know what I love about Cathy? I love her personality, the way she fiddles with her shoelaces when she gets bored or nervous, I love that she's shy and the way she lights up when someone talks about writing, she loves writing but you wouldn't know that because you're only attracted to her body. She's smart, she's kind, she's talented, and she's way better and deserves better than you." I say, Thomas glares at me
"So what are you saying? That she deserves you instead?" Thomas says through gritted teeth, Mom and Dad has backed away from us, we haven't argued this bad, ever.
"No, I won't be good enough for her, I don't deserve her. And, if I'm being completely honest she doesn't deserve anyone who's gonna treat her like you are." I say back
"And how would I treat her?" He says clenching his fists
"You would treat her like shit." I say and he pushes me down, "WHAT THE HELL?!" I ask
