Parrlyn parents, Jane is 8

Cathy POV
I walk into the kitchen to see Jane playing with her pencil. "Jane, what are you doing?" I ask and she looks at me,

"I'm bored. I hate homework," Jane says and I sigh and I kiss her head. "Mama, can I do something other than homework?" She asks and I shake my head,

"You gotta finish your homework." I say and she sighs,

"But there's like 1,000 pages!" Jane exclaims and I smile,

"There's only 3 pages,"

"3 pages too many" Jane says and I giggle.

"I have to go, and I want you to finish that homework. No TV until it's done. And, Mommy's gonna be home very very soon." I say and Jane nods,

"Okay." Jane says sadly and I kiss her head,

"I'll be back soon." I say and Jane nods,

"Bye Mama." Jane says and I wave,

"Bye Janey." I say.

Jane POV
Mama walks out of the door and I look out the window to see her driving away. I wait a few seconds before grabbing my homework and shove it in my bag, sometimes I did this but I don't like too most of the time.

I run over to the window and saw Mommy pulling into the garage, I grab my bag and run upstairs and set it on my bed. I run back down the stairs and Mommy walks in through the door. "Hi bug!" Mommy says excitedly and I run over and hug her.

"Hi Mommy!" I say and she kisses my head,

"Did you have fun at school?" She asks and I shake my head,

"That's not how school works Mommy," I say and she giggles which make me giggle.

"Okay, did Mama feed you dinner yet?" She asks and I shake my head,

"She said that you were gonna order pizza and that I could have a snack until you got home." I say and Mommy pulls out her phone, I walk over to the couch and Mommy smiles at me. She hangs up and looks at me,

"Do you have any homework?" She asks and I shake my head and she smiles, "good. Then we can watch Tv." Mommy says and she takes off her shoes and then runs over to the couch and sits down next to me.

"Can we watch The Little Mermaid?" I ask and Mommy nods,

"Sure bug." She says and she turns the TV on, I lay my head on her shoulder and she starts the little mermaid.

Cathy POV
1 hour later
I open the door and saw Jane and Anne sitting on the couch watching Disney movies. "Mama!" Jane exclaims and Jane runs over to me, she hugs me and I hug her back.

"Did you finish all of your homework?" I ask and she nods, I give her a look. "Can I see it then?" I ask and Jane shakes her head, "why not?" I ask and she sighs,

"Because I didn't do it," she says and I look at Anne who was looking as shocked as I was, Jane never ever lies about anything.

"Jane! You gotta do your homework!" I say and she looks at me sadly,

"Am I in trouble now?" She asks and I nod my head and she sighs,

"Why don't you go upstairs to your room and wait for me and Mommy, we'll be upstairs in a minute." I say and Jane walks up the stairs. I look at Anne and she looks at me. "Annie! Did you even check her homework?!" I whisper shout and Anne sighs,

"I asked her if she had any homework and she said that she didn't!" Anne whisper shouts,

"Well why didn't you at least check her bag?" I ask and Anne shakes her head,

"No because Jane never lies!" Anne whisper shouts

"Well apparently she does!" I say and I sigh,

"Well I'm sorry that I didn't check her bag? I'll start doing it now." Anne says and I smile

"Okay. I love you" I say and she kisses my cheek,

"I love you too. Now let's go talk to Jane," Anne says and we both run up the stairs. I look at Jane who was sitting on her bed playing with her necklace Anne gave her. Jane looks up at us and then back at her necklace,

"Why did you lie about having homework?" I ask and Jane sighs and looks at me,

"Because I didn't want to do it," Jane mumbles and I kiss her head.

"I know you didn't want to do it, but you have too. I mean if you want to be like Mama and Mommy you have to do all your homework." I say and Jane looks at me,

"I know, I'm sorry." Jane says and Anne hugs her,

"It's okay bug, but you have to tell the truth to me and Mama." Anne says and Jane nods,

"I will, I promise." Jane says and we smile,

"Good. Now, how about we DaNcE!" Anne says and I giggle, Jane stands up and they both run downstairs, I follow them and we start dancing.
