Cathy POV
I take a shakey breath and I look at the test. Positive. "Oh my god" I whisper, me and Thomas where together for a while and we- I'm not finishing that sentence, and then I met Jane. I broke up with Thomas, then he got drunk and died in a card accident and now me and Jane are togethe. Then there was a knock on the door.
"Cathy, baby? You in here?" Jane asks and I hide the test really quick.
"Y-yeah" I stutter,
"Okay, we're all watching a movie downstairs if you want to join us." Jane says and I nod,
"Uh, yeah. I'll be down in a m-minute" I say and Jane walks away. I wipe away a few my tears, I'm not ready for this, I'm not ready to be a mom. I walk into Janes room and grab one of her jumpers, it calms me down a lot.
I quickly put it on and walk downstairs and Jane smiles at me. "Are you alright?" She asks when I sit down next to her, I cuddle up to her side and she puts her arms around my waist. I tense slightly and Jane kisses my cheek.
"Y-yeah" I say and I fiddle with her bracelet. Jane kisses the side of my head and Kat puts on Peter Pan.
An hour later
I'm scared, I don't want to tell Jane. But she should know, what if she wants to break up. We've only been together for 1 month and 2 week, I mean not that I'm counting. I was brought out of my thoughts at the sound of Janes voice, "Cathy?" Jane asks and I nod,
"Yeah?" I ask and she sits up,
"The movies over, the others are going to sleep. I was wondering if you wanted to go to bed or not," Jane says and I shake my head.
"Can we just go upstairs and cuddle?" I ask and she nods.
I lay down next to Jane and I get tired, I wanted to stay up and talk to Jane. "Love, if you're tired just go to bed" she says and I nod.
"Okay" I mumble and fall asleep.
A week later
I got back from my doctors appointment, I don't look at anyone and I run upstairs too my room. I pull out the ultrasound picture and smile. Jane walks in, and I jump and hide the ultrasound. "What are you hiding?" She asks and sits in front of me.
"I-I don't know what you're talking about" I say and she nods her head.
"Yes you do. What are you hiding Cathy?" She asks and I feel tears brimming in my eyes, she's gonna hate me and the break up with me. She puts her hand on my cheek and wipes away a tear. "I'm not gonna be mad at you," she says and I bring the ultrasound in front of me. I bite my lip and hand it to her, she smiles. "Who's is this?" She asks and I look down, she makes me look at her. "Cathy, I-is this your baby?" She asks and I nod,
"I-I, it's Th-Thomas's baby" I stutter and she takes my hand.
"Cathy, how long have you known?" She asks and I look at my feet.
"A week." I say and she brings me into her lap, she puts her hand on my stomach.
"How far along are you?" She asks,
"A-a month" I say and she kisses me. I pull away and start crying, "I-I'm scared." I whisper and she rubs my back,
"You're gonna just fine. I'll be by your side the entire time." She says and I hold up a pinky,
"Promise?" I ask and she links out pinky's
"Promise" she says.
8 months later
I hold our baby and smile at Jane, "you did it Cathy." Jane whispers in my ear, she kisses my cheek and I look at her.
"I did it" I whisper and she nods.
"I'm so proud of you Cathy. I'm so so proud of you" she says and looks at our baby. "What do you want to name her?" She asks and I smile,
"I like Mary, but I wanna call her Mae" I say and she nods,
"I think that's a great name" Jane says and I smile. "I love you Cathy" she says and I kiss her,
"I love you too." I say and Mae grabs my finger, "hi Mae" I say softly and Jane giggles.
"She looks just like you" Jane says and I smile.
Jane POV
I hold Mae while Cathy sleeps, Mae holds my finger and a nurse walks in. "Hello. You have some visitors." The nurse says and I smile,
"You can bring them in" I say and Kat runs in.
"Oh baby, gimmie!" Kat whisper shouts, and I giggle. Kat sits down in one of the chairs. I stand up carefully and Cathy wakes up.
"Where do you think you're going?" Cathy asks her voice groggy,
"The girls are here and Kat is impatient" I say and Cathy gives me a thumbs up.
"Be careful with her please." She says and I nod, I carefully set Mae in Kats arms and Kat smiles.
"Guys I'm afraid I can't give her back" Kat says and I giggle and kiss Maes head. I walk over to Cathy and sit down next to her,
"You're gonna be a great mom" Cathy says and I smile and kiss her temple.
"So are you" I say and she smiles. "Night Cathy" I say and she closes her eyes.
"Night Janey" she whispers.
A day later
I hold the door open for Cathy and we walk into the house. Anne was holding bags that which I would assume have gifts in them. "Welcome home!" Anne exclaims quietly,
"Oh my gosh, for once Anne is bouncing off of the walls." Catherine says and Anne hits her,
"Oh you hush" Anne says and walks up to us. "Me and Kat got these" Anne says and hands them to me, I take them.
Later that night
I hold Mae as Cathy sleeps, I run my finger over Maes chest and she looks at me, she smiles. "Hi Mae" I whisper and she kicks her legs. "Me and Mama love you lots and lots. I'm gonna make sure you have everything you need and your aunts are gonna spoil you like crazy. Your aunts are a little crazy but you'll be just fine. I love you Mae" I whisper and she holds my finger and lays her head on my chest.
"You're so cute you know that?" Cathy asks and I blush,
"You heard that didn't you?" I ask and she nods,
"And it was really cute." Cathy says and she cuddles into my side and kisses Maes head. "I love you" she says and I kiss her
"I love you too."
