Chapter 28: Nowhere Left to Run

Hinata's P.O.V

Another night has passed and I laid fast asleep in the same cave I've lived in for days now. A small smile was found on my lips as I laid asleep peacefully.

For the first time in my life, I was completely happy and content. I was free to do what I want, love who I want, and live how I want. And all of this felt absolutely amazing.

I let out a blissful sigh and finally opened my eyes from my slumber, the world around me coming back into my view. But something, was off about it.

As soon as I opened my mouth to yawn, a large hand moved over to cover my mouth, stopping the noise from surfacing. I gasped by that, totally shocked.

What the?

But before I could question what was happening, I was shushed, red glowing eyes moving to meet my own, startling me. But I knew just who they belonged to.

"N-Naru-" But I was shushed again, his head shaking at me.

"Stay quiet, Hinata." He only whispered out which made my eyes widen, my curiosity raising. 

What's, going on?

From where I laid, I couldn't see anything because Naruto's body was blocking mines, his hand reaching behind himself to cover my mouth.

I looked up at him to see his head directed away from me now but turned to the direction facing us.

I swallowed nervously at this situation, concern brimming every single part of me. I didn't know what was going on. I didn't know what to do. Naruto's here but...

Where are my friends?

Everything was going so fast. I was totally confused. Suddenly though, an unknown voice came about causing the both of us to freeze up.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are.. We know you're there."

The voice, did not tame my worry..

No..

It only heightened it severely, so severely I started to panic.

I launched up quickly and grabbed onto Naruto's arm shakily, getting his attention.

He snapped his head towards me and frowned, my eyes watching his own orbs stray away from me constantly to check the opening of the cave.

I whimpered softly. "Naruto.. What's going on? Who are those people? Where are my friends?" I whispered out quickly, my eyes watering up in no time. I, was scared. Who knows why those people are here.

They could want to kill us...

Hurt us...

Or, take us in...

They could be vampires ruled by my mother to look for me. Or, they could be werewolves, here to slay the both of us.

I whimpered once again but Naruto shushed me, his hands moving to grab my arms firmly. He shook his head. "Hinata, you have to stay calm. I don't know what the hell is going on either. But I do know this. Your friends went hunting together earlier but never, came back. I was woken up out of my sleep to the sound of footsteps around our cave. But these footsteps weren't just owned by one or two people. But their um.." He paused, lowering his head in regret. He seemed to want to hold back the truth from me. He looks so...

Stuck..

Trapped..

I bit my lip, trying my best to urge him to say it. "Please, Naruto.. Just tell me. If you let me know, I can help." I whispered out but he shook his head as soon as I said those words, his eyes now holding worry in them.
