Chapter 23: A Change Of Plans

Pearl's P.O.V

I let out a sigh of immense sadness as I sat on the edge of my great big bed in my room, my head lowered.

I knew I shouldn't have but I had to leave the rest of the vampires unattended. All of this is  stressing me out.

I just need, my daughter…

I whimpered, a tear rolling down my face.

Why can't you just come back to me, daughter…

I know I haven't been treating her in the slightest bit great but…

She has to know I'm only doing all of this to protect her.

As a queen of all vampires, old and new, I have to be strict on my rules. I have, to be. Even, to my daughter. That's, just how it's gotta be.

If I like it, or not..

My pedestal just always remans higher than anyone else's, regardless if they're my family. I have to keep, the order..

I don't want anyone to.. rebel…

I sighed and glanced around my room, taking in the luxury scenery. I bit my lip, lowering my head, trying to fight the urge to cry.

Now, this place doesn't look so great…

Everything inside of my room, just made me think of my mate.. My husband. I used to share this room with him and now..

He's not here..

It just shows that I'm alone in all of this.. That this kingdom is my responsibility…

And it tends to be too much at times..

I just want everything to slow, down. My hand fell down to my black dress and I ruffled with the shiny fabric, trying to get my mind off of all of this.

I deserve it.

Soon though, a knock was made to my door which jolted me up immediately, my body coming to a stand.

I didn't waste any time and I vanished over to the door, opening it wide. But who I saw surprised me, my eyes widening. "T-Toneri hey.." I whispered out, a little startled that he showed up to, my room..

He never, does that..

He stood behind the door with a small smile on his face, his head nodding towards my door. "Sorry for the interruptions, my Queen.. But, I have really important news to share." He announced with a wider smile, but I frowned, still a little concern with his presence here.

I looked back at my bed and then back at him. I shook my head. "No… Toneri. You are not aloud to step foot inside a Queen's bedroom. That's the rules. You will hold your matters until I leave-" But I was cut off by him.

He gasped, shaking his head. "Oh but you must, let me in. I think this newfound information has something to do with your, daughter…" He finally explained which certainly peaked my entrance, my hand slacking on the door knob.

I bit my lip, giving in a bit. "Wh-What?" I only whispered which he nodded to, his eyes pleading for me to let him enter.

But if I do that, he'll be the first person, other than Hiashi, to enter and see the fine treasures of my room.

But if I leave it, I'll be brought back into the situation that is going on right as we speak when all I mean to do is rest. I sighed, battling internally with myself..
