Lavender hair, matching colored eyes, Viscount's daughter and acclaimed genius is the person I am...Charlotte Vera Castile.
Growing up, I was told that I was the most suitable person to become the next Queen, so my main education consisted around studies around governing and social studies on human nature and social and public speaking.
In other words, I was being trained to being able to manipulate large crowds of people.
It ended up all being pointless when I heard my Father say that another girl had been chosen as Prince Erik Arundel's fiancée. It was meant to be a secret from the until they were both adults to announce their engagement to the public. My Father only knew about the arrangement because he was close with His Majesty.
It was not like I had fallen for the Prince or wanted to be his lover. I just wanted the position of one day becoming Queen for all of my effort.
Just for a reason like that, I built up several years of hatred for a person I had never met...
I avoided any social gathering with her name attached and eventually ended up not knowing her face until I entered the Royal Academy.
Just as I walked up the cherry blossom covered streets, I saw a woman whose presence was the essence of spring.
She had light pink hair reached down to her waist, light blue eyes that seemed to sparkle like diamonds, and naturally cherry stained lips.
This person was the most stunning person I had ever met before. Something in my soul told me that she was aligned to my destiny the moment I laid eyes on her.
I just had to know her name.
Before my thoughts could catch up, I had ran up to her without much thought and embarrassed myself with a loss of words.
It seemed as if I was choking on air because I could not find any words to say to her.
"...You have a cut on your neck," she said as she lightly dabbed her handkerchief on my neck.
"I have a cut?" I said as I saw the pink handkerchief lightly stained in blood.
"Please keep it on your neck until it stops bleeding," she said as she went back on her way.
My heart beat so rapidly that I had forgotten that I was still bleeding from my neck.
A little while later, I saw her again addressing the new incoming class as our Valedictorian.
"...I hope that all of you will have a pleasant student life experience," she said as she closed off her speech.
I watched her dazedly as she walked down from the podium.
"Lady Arielle is so beautiful!" a girl sitting in front of me said.
Arielle...Arielle Maddox?
When I heard that name, my heart dropped.
She was the person I was supposed to hate, but why do not feel any hatred when I look at her? Why does my heart feel so uncomfortable? I feel like dying...
I have never felt this way before.
What is this feeling?
I saw her in my law class the next day.
She sat alone not because no one wanted to be near her but because everyone was in awe of her and watched her from a distance as if she was a national treasure. I agreed with their views but knew that I was several levels above them and was not afraid to go up to her this time. I just had to investigate this feeling.
"Lady Arielle, please allow me to give my sincere greetings," I said to her.
"You must be Lady Charlotte Castile," she said with a beautiful smile.
She knows my name?
"...I was not aware that you knew of me," I said.
"I had heard that I nearly lost my place as incoming Class Valedictorian to you, so I was curious about who you were. I did not think that you were the one who I gave my handkerchief to when I first met you," she said as she got out of her seat and held out her hand.
"I am Charlotte Castile. It is a pleasure to meet you!" I said as I grabbed her hand with both hands.
That was how my first meeting with Arielle began.
