CHAPTER 08: Nganga

THIS is the day that we're gonna meet the representatives of Great Montemayor's FoodTech. May pasok ako sa school but the directors of the departments are required to attend. Honestly, pwedeng hindi ako pumunta dito because they know my situation, I can just read the written report but I choose to go here personally.

Kailangan ko 'tong harapin. Hindi ko 'to pwedeng takasan. I prepared myself to whatever will happen in case na ang Lenard na makakaharap ko ay siya ngang kapatid ko.

My cousins Cheche, Chacha, and Chuchay also decided to come. I told them the truth, that I have a gut feeling na si Lenard Montemayor at ang Lenard na kapatid ko ay iisa lang. They even opposed me, telling me na bakit hindi ako in-inform nina Mommy but who knows, it could be a surprise, and if it is indeed a surprise, magugulat talaga ko.

The board of directors are now inside the meeting room and si Kuya Primo ang nasa gitna. I held my chin and I played with my ballpen with my other hand.

Then Kuya Primo started, "Good morning everyone. As we all know, we are here for an important agenda. We will meet the General Manager and the other representatives of the Great Montemayor's FoodTech. We have to give our best in this because this FoodTech will soon become our greatest stock holder. The General Manager is already an achiever at the young age of 19."

Nagbulungan ang lahat. They are all impressed. Nineteen years old...Lenard would be nineteen by now.

"Impressive, right? So I'm hoping from each and every one of you. We should do our best to convince him. So that he can trust the MF Food Laboratories, Incorporation."

Everybody agreed with Kuya Primo pero ako ay nananatiling tahimik. Cheche, who is beside me, tap my shoulder. "Everything will be okay."

I smiled. "Thank you."

Kuya Primo's secretary already went inside at may sinabi kay Kuya. I think andito na sila. I was right. Nang pumasok na ang representatives at nakita ko ang Lenard Montemayor na 'yun...sigurado na ako.

Siguradong sigurado ako na siya ang kapatid ko.

Ilang beses ko tong pinaghandaan. Pero bakit ngayon? Pakiramdam ko ay naubos ang dugo ko. Para akong nanghina. Kamukhang-kamukha ko siya. I wanted to apologize dahil pinabayaan ko siya noon. But above all, I wanted to beg, na 'wag niyang bawiin sa'kin ang babaeng dapat sa kanya.

Before he introduced himself to us, there was a long hug between him and Kuya Primo. So he knew it, my mom probably told him. Hindi sinabi sa'kin ni Mommy because she wanted to surprise me.

I was...indeed...surprised.

"Good Afternoon, everyone. I'm Lenard Montemayor from Great Montemayor's FoodTech. It was great to be back here in the Philippines but," he looked at me, "not so really nice meeting you, Director Rod Martinez...after eleven long years."
