ROD
I WOKE up with the sight of my lovely wife. God knows how grateful I am na si Chloe ang una kong nakikita sa paggising ko. God also knows how much I wanted to make love with her but not on her most vulnerable state.
It seems na naramdaman niya ang pagtitig ko sa kanya as she opens her eyes slowly.
"Good morning, my love."
"Good mor—wait! May kailangan kang asikasuhin sa company niyo 'di ba?"
"That can wait. For the mean time, let's cuddle first." I immediately wrap her inside my arms.
Today is Sunday. So it means kailangan naming pumunta ni Chloe sa bahay nina Mama niya. But I can't join her today since I have something to do. My life became busier than usual since I started studying Medicine, and my dad appointed me as the director of the food analysis department. Well, it doesn't necessarily mean that I have to go to the company everyday.
"Sabihin mo na lang kay na Mama ha? Na may aasikasuhin lang ako. Susunod ako mamayang gabi promise."
Tumango si Chloe.
"SORRY baby, ha? Weekend na weekend pero hindi kita makakasama."
"Okay lang. Sige na Rod, aalis na kami, tinext na ko ni Mama."
"Okay, wife. Take care, okay?"
"I will," nakangiti niyang tugon.
Sobrang pinapasaya ni Chloe ang bawat umaga ko. I went back to my room, naligo, nag-ayos, at naghanda. Then tumunog ang cellphone ko, it's a long distance call from Mommy.
"Hello, Mommy? Napatawag ka po?"
"I have a good news, son!"
"What is it?"
"One of the most successful food technology corporations here in States is planning to invest their shares in our company, particularly sa branch natin diyan sa Pilipinas."
"Wow! Of all the food laboratories here, bakit sa'tin ang napili nila?"
"Maybe because we have great directors? And the director of food analysis is the best?"
"That's so sweet of you."
"I know I am," proud niyang pagkakasabi kaya pareho kaming natawa.
"Anyway mom, what's the name of the corporation? Para makapag-reasearch na rin po ako agad."
"The name is Great Montemayor's FoodTech. All I know is that this corporation is ran by Filipinos."
"I see. Alam na po ba ni Kuya Primo 'to?" Kuya Primo is my cousin, the current CEO of our company, and my dad's successor. Previously, I was the successor but after choosing the field of Medicine my dad appointed me to a lower position instead.
"We just want to make sure first kung mag-iinvest ba talaga sila sa'tin before telling Primo about this. For now, ikaw muna ang mag-handle since you have the rights next to him. I'll update you about the progress."
"Okay, mom. Thank you for trusting me on this."
"Of course, anak. O siya, I have to go. Take care of yourself there and Chloe."
"Yes, mom. I will. Bye."
As soon as my mom ended the call, agad kong ni-research ang nasabing corporation. It's run by Filipinos nga. Hindi lang half, kundi pure Filipino talaga. I was amazed and sad at the same time. Nakamit nila ang success sa ibang bansa at hindi sa sariling bayan. Wow ang patriotic ko!
I browsed their company website for organization chart. Nagulat ako when I found out that the CEO just passed away recently and wala pang pumapalit. Baka kaya naisipan din nilang mag-invest so they can save the company. Then 'yung Chairman ay mukhang sindikato. Nakakatakot itsura.
Kaya lang nakakapagtaka dahil pagdating ko sa general manager, wala siyang picture. This is odd. I almost lose my grip as I read the name of the GM.

ComédieC O M P L E T E D This is the book version. I drafted several chapters, as in SEVERAL. But it did not affect the plot, it actually made the story better.
