( Enjoy some cute winter drabbles with WangXian 😊)
Wei Ying opened his eyes to be greeted with the sight of snow drifting gracefully from the sky. It landed on the windowsill and a little even blew into their room.
His eyes widened and he sat up in bed, jumping up and down as he smiled with glee.
"Lan Zhan! Lan Zhan wake up! It's snowing!" he exclaimed and shook his love's shoulders to try and wake him.
He looked up at the sky and saw that it was dark with the smallest traces of sun on the horizon. Perhaps it was too early for the Lan disciples to wake up? It didn't matter anyways. He had to wake Lan Zhan up and show him the snow.
"Lan Zhan!" he whined and flopped his body over the older's. He prodded Lan Zhan's cheeks over and over and over until something happened.
Lan Zhan's arm reached out and pulled Wei Ying off the top of his body, instead pulling him to his side and into his chest.
"Too early." he mumbled.
"But it's snowing!" Wei Ying shouted but fell silent as he thought of something that would wake his husband up.
"Hanguang-jun, it's snowing." he whispered into Lan Zhan's ear. "It's as white as the fur of our rabbits on the mountain."
At the mention of rabbits, Lan Zhan half-opened one eye and looked at Wei Ying sleepily. It was a rare sight to see Wei Ying awake before him. The younger laughed at his antics before kissing him and pulling him up and out of bed to get ready for the day.
"It's past five now so you can get up." he said and ended up pushing Lan Zhan out of the bed; he landed on the floor with a heavy thud.
Wei Ying laughed and got ready whilst Lan Zhan woke up. As he was tying his hair he turned around to see Lan Zhan placing on his forehead ribbon as he gazed outside.
"Isn't it pretty?" Wei Ying asked as he walked over.
"Hm."
"Not as pretty as me though, right?" he asked with a grin.
"No."
The pair shared a happy smile before pulling on their thick cloaks and venturing out into the world. Today was their day off but since it was snowing they had to go outside and have some fun. At least they had to according to Wei Ying. Lan Zhan would be content staying in and passing the day by with reading and music. But if Wei Ying wanted to go out then they would.
As they slid shut the door behind them, the cold winter air greeted them through the light breeze. Luckily their cloaks were thick and had fur lining so they wouldn't get cold. The pair held hands as they carefully made their way down the steps and onto the snow coated courtyard.
The sun was partly visible through the clouds and its rays made the snow sparkle as if it was coated in crystal clear jewels. The untouched layer was satisfying to look at and the atmosphere was calm and tranquil; since they stayed near the top of Cloud Recesses it was peaceful and private, meaning there were never many or any people about.
"Do you want to build a snowman?" Wei Ying asked with the same excitement of a young child.
"A snowman?"
"Lan Zhan! You've never built a snowman?" Wei Ying asked in disbelief.
One of the first things he did in Lotus Pier when it snowed was to build a snowman with Jiang Cheng and YanLi.
"Hm."
"Then today we will make the most extraordinary snowman to have ever existed. Let's do this!"
