"If you will follow me, Mr Wang, and we'll get the lift up."

The construction worker made his way over to the sky rise building. It was at around 20 floors up and the walls were pure glass, tinted dark enough to give privacy to the residents. The metal that was visible was a gleaming silver and the entrance had pure glass rotating doors. He made his way over to the reception desk before moving to the side, allowing the male following him to speak to the receptionist.

"I require the recent construction files." the male spoke in a deep voice.

"Yes sir, right away."

The receptionist was out of their seat and into the back room in a second, not wanting to keep the man waiting. He could feel those intense eyes following his every move and that made him nervous, forgetting for a moment where the files were.

"Is there a problem?" the man asked.

"No Mr Wang, none at all."

"Good. Have you found them yet?"

"Yes sir, right here."

The receptionist sped out of the room and handed over the files with a shaking hand, watching with a nervous glance as the man flipped through the papers, making sure everything was in check. A few minutes passed in a tense silence until the papers were handed back, the receptionist collapsing in his seat from relief. He was scared for a moment that his slowness would cost him his job. He was about to return to his phone calls when the same deep voice rang. He looked over to the entrance and saw the man was standing there looking impatient.

"Mr Lu, I suggest you sort out your filing methods, I don't have time to waste."

"Yes Mr Wang, I'll do that immediately."

Mr Wang exited the building and headed over to the lift. It was especially built for him: made out of glass on the outside of the building, allowing him to look at any inspections of the building without wearing any ridiculous construction gear.

"What floor?" the worker asked.

"All."

The construction worker nodded and pressed a few buttons on a silver panel. The lift slowly went upwards and Mr Wang looked at the building, asking questions about maintenance and materials, making sure there were no shortcuts or mistakes in his 20million yuan apartment building.

Mr Wang was the son of a wealthy businessman yet he never used any of his father's money to help him with his career. He studied business in university and graduated top of his year. He then founded his own construction company and oversaw many complex and luxury constructions all over China. This high rise was one of his most expensive projects and only the very wealthy or famous lived there. Each had to pay the full amount outright before moving in and it was theirs as long as they wished. This building- alongside his other projects- made him a very rich millionaire and he would very soon overtake his father.

Their ride was smooth until they reached the 11th floor. He asked the worker to stop and looked at the metal structure, noticing there was some rusting near the corners.

"How often is the maintenance carried out?" he asked seriously.

"Once- once every 3 months sir." the construction worker asked, sounding afraid.

Here he was, in a glass lift with his boss- known for having a temper- and was fearing for his job, and his life.

"Change it to every month. If this is not done and I don't see improvements, you will be fired."

"Of course, sir. I'll do that right after."

"Good. Let's carry on."

The lift continued upwards and the air was very tense. The construction worker prayed that their was no other issues or he was definitely out of a job. He commented here and there on the improvements they had made just last week, but stopped when his boss looked annoyed.
