(A modern day au for you to enjoy 😁)

"This is going to be the best night of our entire lives!" Sizhui cheered as he dragged his two best friends with him towards the huge stadium. "The Wei Wuxian! Thankyou for getting the tickets brother."

"Hm."

Wangji walked behind the trio of excited teens, directing them through the busy crowd and towards the ticket booths.

"Tickets please." the attendant asked with a smile. "Excited to see the show?"

"Excited? I'm going to scream so much everyone will go deaf when Wei Wuxian performs!" Jingyi shouted as he bobbed up and down on his feet.

"I'm sure you'll have fun. Here you go, take the entrance on the left." the attendant said with a smile and pointed to the grand double doors opposite the booth.

"Thankyou, come on Jingyi." Jin Ling said and dragged his distracted friend with him by his collar.

"Hey! I'm coming! Admit it, you're just as excited as I am."

"At least I don't make myself look like an idiot."

"Hey you-"

"Enough guys, let's find our seats." Sizhui said, pulling apart his bickering friends, used to their fighting.

They headed into the stadium and the three boys gasped at how huge it was. Thousands of seats were piled on top of each other, giving the spectators a great view of the large main stage. Sizhui looked down at what row they were and they headed down the ground floor level, taking note of the row numbers as they went.

"We're right at the front!" Jingyi exclaimed as the group made their way to their seats. They were on the front row- right next to the T-shaped stage- so they could see their idol up close.

"How did you get these seats?" Sizhui asked in disbelief.

Wangji didn't reply but ushered them into their seats. They took off their jackets and placed their bags on the floor. They could see the final parts of the stage being set up and employees dashing everywhere for the show.

"You all want drinks?" Wangji asked the boys who were chatting excitedly about their dream coming true.

"Please." they all chorused before turning away and talking some more.

Wangji smiled at the boys' excitement and made his way from the stalls and back to the entrance hall. He looked around at the busy crowd full of shouting teens and merchandise and overwhelmed parents. He found a drinks stand at the end of the right wall so made his way over quickly, saying excuse me to the people he brushed past.

A moment later he was ordering three sodas and a water and handing over the cash for the overpriced drinks.

"Rip off isn't it?" a male who looked around his age spoke as he appeared next to Wangji.

Wangji studied the figure and felt for some reason that he was familiar, as if they had spoken before. However with a black mask and bucket hat, it was impossible to identify the male. He could only see bright brown eyes looking at him, the corners turned up to show he was smiling.

"Hm."

"You a fan?" the stranger asked as he ordered a soda.

"My younger brother is."

"He's here then?"

"With his friends."

"And you're supervising?"

"Hm."

"Is it a birthday present or something?"

"Yes."
