(I wanted Wei Ying to have a little fun because he deserves it 😊)

Wei Ying sat on the white stone wall that surrounded the training area. He watched with a smile on his face as Lan Zhan walked around and corrected posture and alignment as they ran through some drills.

The juniors had been out here all morning and were beginning to feel a little tired. Lan Zhan announced a five minute break and the juniors despersed for food and water. As Wei Ying sat, swinging his legs back and forth carelessly, an idea popped into his head.

He stood up and ran across the wall before jumping down at the end and making his way to their room. He pushed open the door and went over to the small wood cupboard and pulled out some blank paper, ink and a brush. He bundled them up before speeding back to the courtyard. With ease he jumped onto the wall and sat down once again.

Lan Zhan called for the juniors to resume formations and they pulled out their swords, the gleaming silver shining in the sunlight, sending off small glares. Wei Ying smiled before lying on his stomach and pulling the paper, ink and brush towards him. He looked across the courtyard, taking in the juniors expressions and the small flowers adorning the fences. He gazed for a few moments before turning to his paper and dipping his brush lightly into the ink; he placed the tip onto the paper and began to draw, the strokes coming together slowly.

About fifteen minutes Wei Ying finished his first drawing and sat up with a wide grin. He held it up to the light and saw it really was very good. He carefully folded it up into a small bird shape and moved his body to face Lan Zhan. With one eye closed for precision, he aimed at his target and sent the paper flying. It glided slowly in the wind and landed softly on Lan Zhan's shoulder.

Lan Zhan's eyes looked curiously at the paper bird then at Wei Ying who was lying, on his side with his head propped up, once more on the wall with a huge grin.

"Open it!" the younger shouted with a wave.

Lan Zhan lifted the paper off of his shoulder and looked at it intensely. The juniors looked up at Senior Wei who laughed and sent some magic to the paper which made it flutter and tweat. He laughed happily and told the older to open it once more.

"Hm."

Lan Zhan unfolded the paper delicately and his eyes caught the small brush strokes on the paper. Once the paper was smooth his eyes wandered over the drawing.

It was a picture of the courtyard just as it was in this moment. The juniors were concentrating and looked energised after their water break, Lan Zhan looked stern and handsome as he walked around correcting the disciples, and the sunlight was peering through the clouds and shining upon the swords and flowers.

Wei Ying saw Lan Zhan smile and it made his heart flutter a little. He loved Lan Zhan's rare smiles but they were slowly becoming more frequent. That made Wei Ying the happiest ever.

"You're not on it." Lan Zhan spoke up to where Wei Ying was watching.

"I've seen enough self portraits of me to put that idea out of my mind forever." Wei Ying said with a grin and thought back to the vendor selling horrid drawings of him for ridiculous prices.

"Can we see?" Sizhui asked as he lowered his sword.

"Sure." Wei Ying nodded and Lan Zhan passed the picture to Sizhui who looked at it with a big smile before passing it to JingYi who exclaimed loudly:

"Senior Wei, you are a great artist."

"Thanks JingYi."

"Senior Wei everything looks so realistic."
