Spiritual Pool

"This place is so cool!" JingYi exclaimed as he walked around the cave with gleaming walls and small crystals everywhere.

"It is. But be careful." Wei Ying warned, following the boy inside.

Sizhui and Lan Zhan entered behind them, their expressions holding pleasant surprise and awe from the cave they had just discovered. They had simply been walking back from Lanling- where they returned Jin Ling after his stay in Cloud Recesses-  and took a wrong turning in the forest. At first they were uncertain, but after a check from Wei Ying, they entered to explore.

"There is a lot of spiritual energy." Lan Zhan commented.

"It does. I wonder what its past was." Wei Ying replied, wandering deeper into the cave and beyond view. "Whoa, come and look at this!" he shouted.

The trio followed the male's voice and found a large impression in the wall that formed a passageway; at the end something was reflecting brightly onto the walls.

"Shall we go in?" Sizhui asked.

"Yes. I'll go first to make sure it's safe then call you over, okay?"

"Hm."

Wei Ying smiled before turning around and walking down the passage, his silhouette only lit by the wavering reflections. A few minutes later they heard him exclaim again and call them through. They followed and exited into another smaller cave with a large pool in the centre. Its water was clear but cold, even a little misty; it reminded Lan Zhan and Wei Ying of the cave under the healing lake.

They each walked around it, peering into the water and seeing swirling animations that looked like spirits. Wei Ying looked over to Lan Zhan- who was peering into the water- and saw the pool made his eyes look like liquid gold and his robes shine regally. He was very handsome indeed. Wei Ying laughed softly and smiled before looking at the water himself.

Just then, Lan Zhan looked up and over to Wei Ying. He saw his dark eyes shimmer from the water's reflection and his smile seemed even brighter. He looked beautiful.

"So, what do you think it does? Hanguang-jun, Senior Wei, any ideas?" JingYi asked.

"I'm not too sure but this pool contains a lot of powerful spiritual energy. Lan Zhan?"

"I do not know either."

"Well there is only one way to find out." Wei Ying said before crouching down and reaching a hand into the water.

Soft waves travelled across the pool and the ripples stretched to the edges. The mist that hovered above the water penetrated it and suddenly the water was a crystal clear blue, so clear you could see the rock deep down at the bottom. Wei Ying felt something shift in the air and knew the others felt the same thing when they took in small breaths.

Suddenly, when Wei Ying looked into the pool once more, he didn't see the water nor the rock, instead he saw smiling and laughing faces. He leaned closer to the water and peered at it intensely. The image faded and Wei Ying knew if he wanted to see more he would have to get in.

"What is it?" Sizhui asked.

"I saw something." Wei Ying explained as he tied his hair tighter and removed his outer robe. "I have to get in it."

"What?" JingYi asked, shocked when Wei Ying got ready to jump in the pool.

"Are you sure?" Lan Zhan asked with a small frown.

"I am." Wei Ying nodded. "Join me," he added with a grin, "if you dare."

With that, Wei Ying took in a deep breath before diving into the pool, moving down until there was plenty of water all around him. He closed his eyes and calmed himself, feeling the liquid move all around him before opening his eyes and smiling.
