A few hours later, sunbeams peaked in through the windows and the passengers slowly started to wake up. Lan Zhan was one of the first to wake up and- with a stiff neck- realised his head had been leaning on top of Wei Ying's. He ears tinted red as he sat up slowly and purchased a cup of coffee from the trolley coming down the isle. He looked down at the sleeping boy before buying another one. The old lady next to him gave him a grin and he blushed slightly before resuming his work. Another hour passed until Wei Ying woke up.
When he opened his eyes he saw a white shirt and frowned. It took him a moment to wake up more and realised he had been leaning on Lan Zhan's shoulder and must have fallen onto his chest. His cheeks turned a vibrant red as he sat up and yawned. He was just about to apologise and turned around but was met with a cup of coffee instead.
"Oh, thank you." he smiled shyly and took the drink gratefully from Lan Zhan who only spared him a slight glance.
He took a long sip of the beverage and, realising it was coffee, he sighed in content and fell back in his seat, closing his eyes as he savoured the strong taste. It definitely woke him up as when the flight attendant announced they would be arriving in half an hour he cheered loudly causing a few stares and laughs in his direction.
The half an hour passed with Wei Ying listening to music, Lan Zhan doing work and the old lady chatting amicably with everyone around her. Soon, the descent began and Wei Ying once again offered gum. The old lady declined once more, pulling out a lollipop from her bag which made him laugh. He hesitantly turned to Lan Zhan who this time, without speaking, nodded his head and took a piece. A wide smile appeared on his face as they descended.
The havoc of arrival was just as crazy as the havoc of departing, as soon the passengers were all out of their seats and grabbing their bags from the overhead compartment. The old lady on their row, who he had found out was named Mary, was struggling to get her purse so Wei Ying leaned over to try and help. Unfortunately, he caught his leg on the strap of his backpack on the floor and fell forward. Fortunately, he felt strong hands wrap around his waist and held him up firmly so he could balance and help the lady. His hoodie had been discarded for only his t-shirt, which rode up slightly when he fell, so Lan Zhan's hands were directly on his skin; they were cold so he let out a small gasp and blushed once more.
Once he had helped, he went to sit back down so the old lady could leave but tripped again causing him to fall back. He landed in Lan Zhan's lap. With wide eyes, he apologised before turning away and reaching down to grab his bag- which he slung onto his back- and hoodie- which he tied around his waist. He got up quickly and made his way down the isle saying a quick goodbye to Lan Zhan. He didn't want to embarrass himself anymore.
Exiting the plane and walking through the terminal he felt like he was missing something but brushed it off for excitement at seeing his brother and sister. He could see Jiang Cheng's face above the crowd and waved at him before jogging over. Slightly overwhelmed at the grand crowd, his sister was standing close to Jiang Cheng and gave him a bone-crushing hug when he reached them. He then hugged his brother and thanked him when he took his bag and carried it. They were about to leave when he heard his name being called from behind him:
"Wei Ying!"
It was Lan Zhan walking over. He left his blazer off and had his shirt unbuttoned slightly along with slightly messier hair, but it still looked well-styled. Wei Ying looked quickly at his sister who told him to go over and went to Lan Zhan.
"Your jacket." he said and handed over the black denim.
"Thanks! I felt like I had forgotten something. Well, it was nice to meet you Lan Zhan, and thanks again. See ya!" he said before waving and walking away.
"Mn." said Lan Zhan and he walked away as well.
As Wei Ying walked back over to his brother and sister he was bombarded with questions about the handsome stranger.
"I sat next to him on the flight. He was nice." he explained to his excited sister. As they continued walking towards the exit he glanced back at Lan Zhan who was walking slightly behind and to the left of them. Although he now had his jacket, he still felt that something was missing.
"Give me a second." he told the two before turning around and heading back over. Jiang Cheng and Jiang YanLi gave each other knowing looks and went to sit at a bench near the exit.
"Lan Zhan!" Wei Ying called as he once more pushed through the heavy crowd.
At his name, Lan Zhan turned to see Wei Ying moving towards him through the flow of people. When he reached him, he was a little out of breath yet looked to him with a shy smile. He seemed to think for a few seconds before opening his mouth and asking:
"Can I have your number? I'd like to see you again." he added with a smile.
It was silent between the two for a few seconds and Wei Ying was about to turn around and run away when he saw a phone held out in front of him. His eyes widened, not believing his luck, and held out his phone on the contacts page in turn. Each added their number into the other's phone before switching back. Wei Ying had also taken a quick selfie and added that to his contact.
"Thanks. I'll see you soon Lan Zhan." he confirmed.
"Yes." said Lan Zhan with a faint smile.
Wei Ying grinned and waved again before heading over to the waiting pair.
"So?" Jiang Cheng asked as they saw his happy expression.
"So what?" Wei Ying asked, trying not to be obvious.
"Did you get his number?" Jiang YanLi asked.
"Yeah." he breathed out in relief and happiness.
The two congratulated him before heading out of the airport and taking a taxi home. The whole time Wei Ying thought how lucky he was to have sat next to Lan Zhan on the plane.
And little did he know, a certain someone in a taxi on the other side of the city was thinking the exact same thing.
