Chapter 12

The next day we're sat at lunch, me sitting next to Sweet Pea, who's fixing my bandages on my hand while also trying to watch a video that Archie has put out. Jughead walks over to us
"This seat taken" Jughead points to Toni's bag. She picks it up and moves it "El what happened to your hand?"
"Let's just say those Ghoulies won't mess with you again"
"What? What did you do?"
"Sweet Pea, Fangs and I gave them a little..... talking to shall we say" we smirk at each other
"What are we watching? From all of your faces I'm guessing it's not funny cat videos"
"Check this out" Fangs turns around the laptop
"Some sick in the head Northsider posted a crazy ass video and we were just talking.."
"About what?"
"Fogarty wants to earn his Serpent stripes. I say bring us that Northsider and your in" Sweet Pea smirks
"I've told him it's a bad idea" I say looking for help off Jughead
"No guys I know this guy he's a milquetoast a football player it's kinda a lame target is all I'm saying. You wanna prove something? Why don't you go after the black hood?"
"Why would we do that? The Black hood  is targeting Northsiders"
"Pea stop"
"El they do nothing but blame us with everything that's wrong with the town"
"I know but..."
"Babe we're sick of it. The black hoods doing our work for us"
"He's a hero" Fangs says earning an eye roll from me.

Later that day Sweet Pea, Fangs, Jagger and I go to the cinema. We're walking back joking around, Sweet Pea draping his arm around me
"Princess how do you walk so quick in them heals" Jagger asks
"Practice"
"Have you ever seen her wearing anything other than heals" Fangs says causing me and Sweet Pea to laugh
"Hey" Sweet Pea shouts taking his arm from around me, I look over to see Archie spray painting....shit. "What the hell are you doing?"
"Pea" I say but comes out more like a whisper
"Back off I'm not here for you"
"Oh yeah? Then who's this message for huh?" Sweet Pea pulls him away from the wall
"Pea" I say louder
"Ella? What are you doing with these thugs"
"Arch I wouldn't. Just leave it yeah?"
"Jesus El you've changed"
"Yeah? I could say the same for you. What are you doing?" I ask annoyed
"Oh hell don't tell me it's for the black hood. Can you believe this guy" Sweet Pea scoffs. I fold my arms and shake my head giving Archie a disappointed look
"And people say we're the troublemakers" Fangs pipes up. Archie ignores them and tries to walk off
"Guys chill" I say
"Woah. Babe he's in Southside Serpent country" Sweet Pea looks at me
"You can't just come here and tag our turf" Jagger spits
"So why don't you get your ass back to the Northside?" Sweet Pea moves closer
"Archie go. Before someone gets hurt"
"Get out of my way. Or someone will get hurt" Archie looks at me
"What the fuck Archie?"
"Hey don't threaten her. You've just made a big mistake" Sweet Pea, Fangs and Jagger get out their pocket knives. Archie looks down and smirks. He pulls out a gun
"Archie?" I ask scared "put it down"
"You think your boyfriends can threaten me" Archie points the gun at me
"Archie you don't know what your doing put the gun down" Sweet Pea and Fangs move in front of me more
"Who made a mistake?" Archie moves closer
"What the hell man?" Sweet Pea says pulling me closer to him
"Who made a mistake?" Archie yells
"Baby lets go" Sweet Pea takes my hand and we run as fast as we can away from Archie. We run over the the Whyte Wyrm, Sweet Pea getting up on the pool table
"Listen up. Some damn Northsider just threatened us with a gun. Pointed it in mine, Fangs, Jaggers and Princess's face. I say we teach them a lesson in messing with the Serpents. What do you say?" There's a room full of cheers "what do you say baby?" Sweet Pea looks at me. I did play with Archie when we were kids but as we've grown older we grew apart. He pointed a gun in my face and at this moment in time I kinda hate him. Wouldn't mind seeing Archie get a taste of his own medicine. I look up at Sweet Pea and smile
"I'm coming with you"

We arrive at Archie's house. I get off the back of Sweet Peas motorcycle
"I want you to stay out of it El. Ya hear me. Don't need someone messing up your perfectly beautiful face"
"I'll be fine. Anyway your not thinking about a fight here? Sweetwater river, challenge them there" we walk over to his door
"How stupid are you Northsiders? You really think you can come to my house, stick a gun in my face? In front of my girls face? In front of my boys" Sweet Pea laughs "and you thought there wouldn't be any payback?" The door opens more to reveal Reggie
"You have crap timing bro"
"Shut it Reggie. I bet your fighting is just as good as your drug dealing. FYI next time you deal drugs at Pops do it more discreetly" I glare at him
"You know. Bulldogs eat Serpents for lunch" I raise my eyebrows and laugh
"Yeah well see about that" Sweet Pea chuckles "and the more the merrier" Reggie goes to hit Sweet Pea
"Hey chill" Archie tries to keep the peace
"Oh now you want to chill Archie. What about when you were willing to shoot me? Huh? Where was the chill then?" I snap. Archie turns around to face someone 
"Veronica stay here. After my dad I made a promise to him and this house stay here" he then looks back at us "If you want a we'll fight"
"What about your gun?" I ask
"What about your knife?" Archie says looking up at Sweet Pea
"How about no weapons?" The girl Veronica chirps up in the back "if you troglodytes insist on doing this then there are gonna be rules" I roll my eyes at her "or should I call sheriff Keller to be referee?"
"Huh thats funny because you do that and your red headed boyfriend will go to jail for owning a gun" I smile at her.

The rain picks up, we're all soaked
"Say here Princess" Sweet Pea gives me a quick kiss and walks over to Archie. They square up to each other, Archie throws the first punch causing Sweet Pea to fall. I stand up off his bike waiting for him to get up, the rest of the Serpents and Bulldogs charge at each other. Sweet Pea gets up and punches Archie in the jaw. I watch as they all fight until I hear Archie shout Dilton. I look over at a guy with a knife in his hand, he stabs himself. Damn it we gotta go. I look back at Sweet Pea who's kicking the shit out of Archie. I run over to him
"Sweet Pea we need to go now" just as I say that I hear a gun shot. Sweet Pea grabs my hand and pulls me to his bike. I wrap my arms around his waist.

"Here" I throw some peas at Sweet Pea, he puts it against his eye. I sit next to him on the couch
"You know you looked really hot tonight"
"Really?" He looks at me smiling
"Uh huh" I say leaning in "how about we get you out of those wet clothes and warmed up"
"And how do you suggest we do that?" Sweet Pea says leaning even closer
"I have my ways" just then there's a knock on the door. I groan going over to open it
"Ella Jones Sweet Pea your both under arrest....."
