Chapter 52

Over the next couple weeks everyone is back at school, however physical contact isn't allowed, so Pea and I can't kiss, hug or even hold hands in school. La Bonne Nuit is busier than ever meaning I'm taking more shifts there to sing, Josie included, thankfully she's not tried anything with Pea for a while so maybe she's finally got the message and moved on to some Northsider. Also now Jughead is back I'm no longer Serpent Queen, he's taken over again. Jug and I spoke to Veronica and the Serpents are now working for her at the speak easy some mind the doors and some to work behind the bar.

Dad Jug and I are all currently in the trailer
"What about this deal with the Lodges?" Dad asks
"It's with Veronica"
"Not the lodges" I finish Jugs sentence
"She's still a Lodge dont you two ever forget it"
"Veronicas not the same as her dad. She helped me and Pea while we were, are still struggling"
"Just be carful. And Jug make sure your still including your sister in the process of things, she's your number 2 remember she did well leading the Serpents for that month you were away"
"I know. Thank you Ella" I smile at Jug
"Now real talk" both Jug and I look up at dad "put me in. I'm tired of sitting on the sidelines I'm not made for it"
"I knew you wouldn't be able to just sit around, was only a matter of time" I sip my tea "we're meeting the others in an hour to jump the Gargoyle gang, they attacked Reggie"
"Then let me join you" I look at Jug and shrug my shoulders
"We could use an extra pair of hands"

We're in the back of a truck, Reggie driving
"You think this will work?" Toni asks
"We just need one. Cheryl have you been practicing your aim?"
"Is that even a question Ella?" Cheryl chuckles. We feel the truck stop
"I wouldn't do that if I were you" we hear Reggie say just as the curtain opens I kick whoever's there to the floor
"It's an ambush" one of the Gargoyles yell as Pea, Fangs, Toni, Cheryl, dad and I jump off the wagon. The other Gargoyles running off and the Serpents chasing them. I hold one of the Gargoyles on the floor with my shoe against his neck, Cheryl pointing an arrow to him, the other Gargoyles run off
"I did try to tell ya" Reggie says
"Pick him up" I let the Gargoyle go and Pea and Fangs pick him up "I want you to go back to your Gargoyle King or your man in black or Hiram Lodge and I want you to tell him that Veronica is now under the protection of the Serpents and Riverdale has not fallen. Go." Jug pushes the Gargoyle away and he runs off
"Who would ever see the day that Bulldogs and Serpents worked together" I turn to look at Reggie
"I kinda like this alliance going on" Reggie says
"You know what" Sweet Pea turns around with his arms folded and a serious look on his face, Reggie looks as if he's gonna crap himself until Pea smiles "your alright" Pea sticks out his hand as Reggie smiles back. They shake hands
"Ahhh this is great Bulldogs and Serpents working together to defeat their common enemies" I pat them both on the back then jump back into the wagon
"Ella" Jug calls
"Yeah?" I poke my head out
"We need to ask Fangs about the you know"
"Oh crap yeah. Errrm so we were wondering if you would want to go undercover. Join the Gargoyle gang" I say kinda worried
"We need a man on the inside of Hiram Lodges operation so we can take him down"
"Are you in?"
"Hell yeah I'm in"
"Ok. Stays between us. No one else knows got it?" I look around at the boys plus Toni and Cheryl who all nod "in unity there is strength"
"In unity there is strength" everyone says except Reggie
"Wait someone didn't say law number 6" I smirk at Reggie
"But I'm not a Serpent"
"No, but your helping us which means your showing your loyalty so you get the honour of saying one of our most important laws. So go on"
"In unity there is strength" Reggie says proudly, wow he really has changed from this idiot to someone who's so much more open minded and caring.
