Chapter 34

I get out of the shower and get changed into some clothes ready to go to the sheriff station to get Fangs out. I see Pea lying on his bed and I decide to join him. Tonight is debate night for the new mayor, although we decided to not go, I'm routing for Mr Andrews. Pea pulls me close to him, I swing my leg over his as my head rests on his chest. Pea rubs his thumb on my jean covered thigh where my tattoo is, we stay like this in comfortable silence for a couple of minutes until Pea suddenly says
"Move in with me. Like properly"
"What? Where's this coming from?"
"Mums leaving Riverdale. I'll find it a little lonely in here by myself. Plus we need our own place for the baby" I look up to Pea and smile
"You don't have to convince me. Yes I'll move in with you" I lean down and kiss him which soon turns into a make out session. I move so that I am now straddling Pea. I reach over to the night stand and grab my hair bobble to tie my hair up
"God I love you so much" Pea says resting his hands on my hips
"I love you to Pea" I say leaning back down to kiss him and he begins to take my shirt off
"We have to be quick. Fangs is coming out tonight" I giggle
"Of course Princess" Pea flips us over so now he's above me.

"We gotta go. Fangs is getting out" I say getting off the phone with Jughead as Pea is putting his shirt back on. I grab my boots and zip them up struggling a little "damn pregnancy already making my feet swell. I will be in flats before you know it"
"I'll have to buy you a step ladder so you can kiss me"
"Or you can just pick me up?"
"What like this" Pea lifts me up, I wrap my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist. He slowly kisses my lips
"We need to go" I say
"I know" Pea sighs, he's nervous I can tell
"Hey look at me. Fangs is getting out. He's going to leave with Joaquin ok"
"I just have a bad feeling that's all. That's somethings going to go wrong"
"If it does then we work together to put it right. We're Serpents" Pea carry's me to his truck and places me in.

We head to the station and see a lot of protesters. Pea and I make our way in and see Toni and Jughead already waiting for us with a few more Serpents
"Dad" I run and hug him
"Everything's going be ok Princess"
"We can't take Fangs out the front we have to take the side entrance" Jughead says to the sheriff
"Crowds there you so pick your poison Serpent"
"Are you kidding? He's a kid and your treating him like a damn animal"
"What do we do man?" Pea asks even more scared than before
"I don't wanna die" Fangs cries
"Hey look at me your not going to die ok" Jug says hold Fangs' face
"We stand together so none of us fall" I say
"In unity there is strength" Jug looks at me and I nod. We form a circle holding on to each other.
"In unity there is strength" we all yell and walk out.

The serpents make a protective circle around Fangs and I. Dad and Jug in the front leading the way, Pea and Toni on the side of Fangs and I, other Serpents around the back of us. I hold on to Fangs and Peas hand as we make our way through the crowd while some are screaming 'justice for Midge' and others screaming 'free Fangs'. As we continue to move through the crowd Archie pushes Reggie on the floor. Pea moves me more behind him. Suddenly we hear a gun shot making everyone stop Pea turns to me and starts to frantically check me over
"I'm fine Pea baby I'm fine"
"Are you sure? Promise me your ok I can't loose you"
"I promise"
"El you good" dad asks and I nod my head. I feel Fangs let go of my hand, I turn around and see him moving his hands to his stomach
"No" I whisper "Fangs" I yell trying the catch him before he falls but he brings me down with him "no no no. Pea shirt now" I yell and Sweet Pea takes off his flannel. I start to apply pressure to the wound
"Get help" Jug yells
"Reggie I'm gonna kill you" I scream looking at him "Fang stay with us ok. Hey look at Pea ok I need you to focus on Pea. I... I errm" my vision starts to blur
"El?" Pea says
"Toni take over" I mange to say before passing out next to Fangs.

When I wake up I'm still lying next to Fangs
"Baby are you ok?"
"Yeah I just got light headed"
"Guys my dads here. He'll take Ella and Fangs to the hospital" Kevin says running up to us. Pea picks me up and carries me. Dad and Jug help Fangs. We all climb in the car
"Get in get in" Kevin's dad says
"Why are you helping us. Didn't you hate the Southside?"
"I never hated you guys. And anyway you all mean something to my son so let's go" he drives us to the hospital. Once again Pea carries me out while dad and Jug help Fangs
"Someone help us" dad yells
"We need a doctor" Jug yells "ma'am
"Wait your turn"
"He was shot. And she passed out, she's pregnant"
"I need you to stand back"
"He's dying" Jug slams his hand on the desk
"Hey. What's going on here" a doctor says
"My friend was shot. Right in the stomach"
"Hey get me a gurney" finally people are doing something
"And the girl?"
"She passed out. She's pregnant" Pea says with tears in his eyes
"Wheelchair now" a nurse runs over to me with a wheelchair
"Are you the father?"
"Yes"
"Follow me"
"Text me Pea" Jug shouts. Pea nods then holds my hand as I'm taken into a room.

In the room Pea helps me on to the bed
"Any pain?" The doctor asks
"No just feel light headed and a little sick"
"Ok. Let's see if we can find a heart beat". He puts the gel on my stomach and starts to find the baby. Pea and I try to hold back our tears, a couple of seconds go by and no heart beat
"Hang on" the doctor says
"Why can't we hear a heart beat? Is something wrong"
"Ahhhh there we go" finally we hear the heart beat. Pea and I breath a sigh of relief "it looks like your only 6 weeks pregnant so the heat beat if faint, but everything looks good so far. Congratulations to you both" the doctor then takes my blood pressure "from your blood pressure it looks like you passed out from it dropping. That can happen when pregnant and something traumatic happens. Can I ask what we're you doing out in that riot?" Pea and I just carry on crying
"Our friend he was being held by the sheriff, people wanted justice for something he didn't do so we tried to help him get out and he was shot" I say
"Ok well I need you to go back home and rest up. You need to have something to eat and drink, get you blood pressure and blood sugar levels back up. I can book you in for your next scan which will be your 12 week scan" I nod my head and hold on to Sweet Pea. Finally we leave the room and find Jughead
"Are you ok?"
"Yeah it was my blood pressure"
"I'm gonna take her back to the Whyte Wyrm"
"I'll meet you there later. Once I know more about Fangs" Pea nods and we walk out of the hospital. He calls Toni to come pick us up.
