After passing out Ella found out she had something called preeclampsia which can be caused by stress and low blood pressure, unfortunately Ella has been under a lot of stress from Fangs to loosing her home to then watching Archie get arrested and not forgetting JC. She has to be carful and and limit the amount of stress she's under and if she does get a little to stressed or upset her blood pressure drops causing her to feel faint, Sweet Pea believed in order to keep her and the baby safe he needed to walk away, he blamed himself for the stress, for pushing El to become a serpent. Sweet Pea started to get close to Josie and a little summer romance blossomed between the two, Ella was heart broken, Toni and Cheryl we're gone on a trip, Jughead and Betty were loved up, and Veronica was doing everything she could to help Archie. Ella felt alone, that is until Reggie came along. Nothing romantic happened between the pair but Ella was grateful to have him. It turns out Sweet Pea only started this romance to take his mind off Ella, however this didn't last long and by the end of the summer Ella and Pea we're back together. Pea and Josie remained friends, but Josie kept flirting with Pea causing Ella to become an overprotective fiancé. Ella hasnt started to show yet only now being 5 months pregnant, but Pea and Ella are very excited to become parents. Veronica also gave Ella a job at Pops so that they would be able to afford baby things while Pea got a job at Fred's construction.
