Chapter 24

The next day Sweet Pea and I just chill in his trailer until we get a phone call off my dad telling us we need to go to the Whyte Wyrm. We grab our jackets and get on Peas bike, my arms wrapped around him. Once we arrive we see the snake charmer Penny sat at a table
"What's going on?" I ask
"You two sit" my dad points at me "we're waiting for your brother" we all sit in silence, Pea and I glancing over at each other every now and then
"Is someone going to tell me what's going on?" I break the silence
"Well my dear Princess your brother and boyfriend hurt one of their own. We will get more into that when your brother has arrived"
"What?"
Once again silence until we hear the doors opening
"Alright order of the ophidians..." Jughead says, he stops and put something on the wall as we all turn to look at him
"Jughead Jones did you really think you'd see the last of me?"
"What's the snake charmer doing here? Dad?"
"I brought her in to help us" Tall boy says moving forward
"We don't need Penny's kind of help"
"You don't get a say anymore. Not since you broke serpent law and hurt one of our own. Penny was just about to tell your dad and sister. Show them Penny" Penny rolls her sleeve up and I see a scar
"That used to be my serpent tattoo" I look at Sweet Pea who's avoiding my gaze, I then look at Jughead "until he sliced a chunk of my arm and left me bleeding in a ditch in Greendale" Dad leans forward and rubs his face "but I'm still willing to help the Serpents after all we can't let ourselves get evicted especially El and Pea with a little one on the way" Penny smiles at me. I shift in my seat and lean forward
"1 how the hell did you know about that and 2 don't ever mention my baby again got it?"
"Oh that's right you no longer have a bun in the oven" Sweet Peas hand clenches, I put mine on his to calm him down "anyway Tall Boy showed me those eviction notices. They're legit. But luckily I can think of about 41 ways to stall the process and I'm talking years"
"What's your price Penny?"
"Blood for blood. An eye for an eye. I want back in with the Serpents and I want him kicked out" Penny points to Juggie "oh yeah one last thing. I want his tattoo carved off and I want to do it myself with a dirty knife"
"Boy go home wait at the trailer" dad says and Juggie complies "we will put it to a vote tomorrow. Sweet Pea take El back to yours. I need to talk to my son alone"

The next night is the night of the vote. I've spent the whole day with Sweet Pea and Fangs while jughead has been with the others, Veronica has some sort of baptism type of thing to which I wasn't invited to. Granted we haven't really got on that well and I'm not really her friend, but hey it kinda hurts that I wasn't invited. Fangs, Pea and I are now in the Wyrm about to do the vote when Jugghead, dad and Betty walks in
"Stop the damn vote" dad says. He walks over to Tall Boy and sits him down in a chair
"What's going on?" I ask confused
"Well Tall Boy is going to tell us what the hell he was doing at the dump last week. So come on spill"
"I don't know what your talking about"
"Come to think of it you didn't come here when I had to tell everyone that El had lost the baby" Sweet Pea stands up walking towards him. I get up and hold him back
"You cut the head off the statue and stashed it at the dump where you were seen dumb ass. So start talking" dad says standing behind Tall Boy wrapping his hand up
"Why did you do it?" I ask
"Someone put you up to this?" Jughead now speaks
"What's the Northsider doing here? This is Serpent business it's on Serpent land" Tall Boy nods his head over to Betty
"She's here because she's one of us" Jug leans over the table
"You haven't answered my daughters question. Why'd you do it?" Dad has now moved round to face Tall Boy
"Because I'm tired of seeing the Serpents going soft under your rule. Then Hiram Lodge came by wanting to stir up trouble"
"Of course he's behind this" I mumble, Sweet Pea squeezes my hand
"He said if I took the head he'd get McCoy and the cops to swarm all over us cause some chaos"
"So Hiram Lodge asked you to start a mutiny and you helped him?" Jug circles Tall Boy
"Why?" I ask
"I figured it would be my chance to get rid of you sunshine and your brother. And if I got rid of them I could get rid of you too FP" dad stands up
"And what you'd become leader?" Jughead and I start laughing
"What? You and Penny" I continue to laugh walking over to my brother
"Your a Judas Tall Boy and an idiot"
"You betrayed your own kind. You broke Serpent law" dad then looks up from Tall Boy to all the other Serpents "what should we do with this lowlife?"
"Strip him of his jacket" Jug says quickly
"Exile him" I say
"All those in favour" dad yells and immediately everyone puts their hands up and dad chuckles "looks like this piece of trash and I got a long ride ahead of us" dad pulls Tall Boy up and begin to walk out of the Whyte Wyrm.

"Want a drink?" Sweet Pea asks me
"Sure" I lean up to him and wrap my arms around his neck and gently kiss him
"What was that for? Not that I'm complaining" Sweet Pea smiles down at me. I shrug and walk over to the bar, Toni meeting us there
"The usuals?" She asks
"Yeah" I say
"Hey Ella I'm going home, with Betty"
"Fine by me brother. I'll stay at Peas again"
"Don't have to much fun" he calls as he starts to walk away
"Shut up" I flip him off
"I haven't seen you smile like that in a while" Toni smiles at me
"I guess I'm just happy at the moment. Losing Jamie was obviously awful but while I knew I was pregnant, even before I knew I just felt worried, off I'm not sure how to explain it, but right now I feel good so before some other shit happens I'm going to relish in this moment"
"I'll cheers to that" Toni pours herself a drink and we all sip our drinks together. I wonder how long it will be now until some more shit goes down?
