Chapter 38 (Season 2 Final)

Hey just so you all know this is probably going to be the longest chapter there is. I try to keep the chapters around 1200 words but when I got to that I still had to write for FPs retirement and the very ending scene. I still hope you enjoy ❤️

I help Fred and Archie hand out food for the Serpents
"Bacon anyone" I say moving the pan off the hob
"Ella have you eaten yet?" Archie asks
"I'll eat in a bit"
"No you'll eat now" Pea pushes himself off the wall "here" he passes me a plate with pancakes on
"Thanks, but errr can someone get those eggs away from me before I vomit" Fred laughs giving the eggs to someone else as I sit at the table
"I remember when your mum was pregnant with you and Jughead. She craved oranges like you and would throw up at the smell of eggs. Have you told your mum yet?"
"Yeah, said she will try to be here for the birth but can't promise anything"
"I'm sorry. What about your mum Sweet Pea"
"She'll be here" I smile at Sweet Pea, as I start to eat dad walks in
"What's going on here? You do all this"
"With an assistance from Archie. Toledo's gonna have to wait"
"Maybe so" I smile looking at Sweet Pea "bulldogs helping Serpent, Fred Andrews opening up his house to a bunch of snakes. There goes the rest of your Northside vote buddy" dad slaps Fred on the back
"We're all neighbours here"
"How are you feeling Princess?"
"Tired but I'm ok"
"Good. You taking care of her" dad points to Sweet Pea
"Of course, I always will. FP can I errr talk to you?" Sweet Pea says almost scared
"Sure let's go outside for a chat. Boy make sure your sister eats all of that"
"Of course dad"
"Actually I wanted to talk to Jughead as well"
"Oh errr ok. Archie stay with Ella"
"Of course" I watch them all walk out
"What the hell is that all about?" Archie asks
"I have no idea"
"Hey how many Serpent jackets you think we can borrow?"
Not sure why?"
"You think enough for the whole school?"
"What are you thinking Andrews?"

"I can't believe it. You even managed to get Reggie to wear one" I say shocked seeing all students wearing a Serpent jacket. Reggie walks over to us wearing the jacket
"I just want to apologise again. For everything, I shouldn't have blamed you for cheating on El. And I sure as hell shouldn't have pushed you pregnant or not. And I'm really sorry about Fangs, that whole night actually" Reggie looks down
"Actions speak louder than words, show me your trust worthy and have changed then I'll let you earn my respect"
"Ok let's do this" Archie says as we wait outside Principles Weatherbees office. After a few minutes he walks out
"What's the meaning of this?" he asks
"It's a show of support sir for the Southsiders who are being wrongly transferred out of our school. Everyone's ready to walk out" Archie says
"Any student who walks out better keep walking because they'll be expelled" I sigh feeling like weve been defeated
"Your a good man Principle Weatherbee your not the kind of person who discriminates and if you are. Then expel me because I don't wanna be a apart of that" there's a long pause
"Everyone get to class" I look up to Pea who's already looking at me smiling
"You think that means we're staying?" he asks
"Not sure but I think we have more of a chance. Plus look at this, this support for the Serpents, maybe things will start to get better for us"
"I hope so" Pea leans down and kisses me while wrapping an arm around me. We walk over to Archie
"Thanks Archie"
"No problem errrm do you you think we can forgive and forget about everything. Fresh start?"
"I don't know about forget but forgive sure. You've shown me that your on our side" I hug Archie who hugs back
"Thank you El" we pull away "and Sweet Pea, you've got a keeper"
"Don't I know it. Come on we've only got one class then we can vote for our student body president"
"I think we all know who's going to win. Especially after today" Pea takes my hand and we head off to English class.

After class we go to the hall and line up to vote
"Hey can I tag along with you guys?" Josie asks, I'm still not 100% sure on this girl and her intentions but I trust Pea not to cheat. Pea looks at me for approval
"Sure. We're going to go to the student lounge after if you want to join?"
"I'd like that. El?"
"Hmm"
"I don't think I ever said congratulations to you guys. Your going to be fantastic parents"
"Thanks"
After voting we all go to the student lounge and wait to find out who won. I'm sat on Peas lap, my head nestled into his neck nearly asleep, I guess everyone thought I was asleep as Jughead starts talking quietly
"I'm guessing you've not asked her yet then?"
"Asked who what?" Betty says
"Not yet, it's not been the right time but I'll know it when it is"
"I'm confused what's happing?" Veronica says
"Peas going to...." and that's when darkness consumes me.

I'm suddenly woken up by chattering and Pea stroking my hair. I sit up a little and rub my eyes, then groaning when I realise I have rubbed the mascara off my eyes and now I probably look like a panda
"Hey El have a nice nap?" Veronica asks handing me some makeup wipes knowing exactly why I groaned
"Thanks. I haven't missed the announcement have I?"
"No don't worry" Archie says
"You'll win. Your bound to with them Serpents votes" I say smiling as I rub my makeup off
"Attention riverdale high students. The result of your student council election are in" this grabs everyone's attention "your new student body president is.... Archie Andrews" everyone starts cheering "In unrelated news for the foreseeable future all former Southside High students will remain at Riverdale High that is all" this causes everyone to cheer Pea lifts me up and spins me around then kisses me. Reggie even pats Pea on the back. The doors open and in walks some Ghoulies
"You hear that Ella, Malachai is going to be so happy we get to keep and eye on you..." JC says and then begins to walk out "oh and he can't wait to take that little bundle of joy away from you" my hand goes straight to my stomach
"Hey. You leave her alone got it. It's not just the Serpents who've got hers and that baby's back, the bulldogs have as well" Reggie says then nods his head at me "now get the fuck out" JC smirks and walks out
"Oh god" I whisper "how... how did he know. I mean yeah the Serpents all know and you guys but Serpents wouldn't have said anything and you guys wouldn't have... would you?" I look around the room, everyone shakes their heads
"No I did" Ethel walks in
"What the hell Ethel you may have just signed El and her baby's death wish" Pea shouts
"Listen Sweet Pea, Ella we got your backs no one is going to take your baby" Archie walks over to me
"Remember what I said baby. We will leave if we have to"
"Ok" I start to calm down. Everything's going to be ok.

Once school is out the Serpents all head to Sweetwater river
"Fangs" I yell and run to him
"Hey Ella. I heard about what JC said. That little baby is safe I promise" I smile at Fangs and hug him again. Pea wraps me up in his arms as my dad stands in front of us and whistles getting everyone's attention
"Listen up now. Alright listen up. Some 60 years ago the very first Serpent meeting took place on these same river banks. It's makes sense this is where we gather where I...." dad pauses "where I say my goodbye. Jughead, Ella will you come here a minute" I look at him confused as I walk away from Pea
"Dad what are you doing?" I ask
"What I should have done a long time ago. I'm retiring from the Serpents for good this time"
"What?" I say shocked
"My kids have never stopped fighting for this crew. Hell Jughead almost died and Ella was willing to give herself over to the Ghoulies for it. That's why I'm giving you both the mantle. Jug will be the leader and El you'll be second in command since you'll have a little one running around soon" everyone starts cheering and clapping. Dad hands a red jacket to Jughead
"I think you know what to do with this. I step off the little raised platform and take Cheryls hand
"We love you dad. And the Serpents will not die out. Not on our watch" Jug says he then slips the jacket on to Cheryl
"Welcome to the Serpents Cheryl" I say.
"One last thing" Jug says "Sweet Pea has something he'd like to say" Sweet Pea walks over and takes my hands
"Ella Jones, I love you more that anything and I can't wait for our little one to be born. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I know we're young but...." he gets down on one knee and all I hear are gasps "will you marry me" he says holding a beautiful ring
"Yes" I breath out "yes Pea I'll marry you" he slips the ring on my finger then stands up picking me up and swinging me around.

Today is the day Archie accepts being our student body president. I'm stood between Pea and Fangs while Josie is singing the national anthem. I've not been feeling to good the past few days, very light headed and today is no different. Half way through I take Peas hand
"Pea I don't feel good" he looks at me and his hand drops from his heart
"Babe you look really pale. Fangs" Pea says making Fangs look at us
"El what's..." the doors busy open and in walks Sheriff Minetta and other cops
"Archie Andrews your under arrest for the murder of Cassidy Bullock. You have to right to remain silent anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law...." my ears begin ringing and my eyes draw heavy
"Pea...." I manage to say before falling to the ground, other times I can't hear.. everything's just black but this time I can hear Peas cries and Fangs saying my name. I can hear Principle Weatherbee calling for an ambulance, I can hear Toni trying to calm Pea down, I can hear Jug on the phone to dad but all I can think about is my baby.
