Chapter 14

"Are you ready?" I ask my brother putting on my jacket
"Yeah let's go" I open the door
"Archie?" I say confused, I look at Jughead who looks just as confused as me
"We gotta talk Jug"
"I guess I'll leave you two alone" I walk down the steps of the trailer
"Now isn't a really good time you gotta go"
"Why what's going on?"
"What do we have here" Sweet Pea says walking over to us with Fangs and other Serpents
"He was just leaving"
"Wait your friends with these thugs" I turn to Archie
"You wanna call us thugs one more time and we can have a repeat of the night that idiot stabbed himself" I go to walk over to Archie but Jughead pulls me back
"Are you joining the Serpents?"
"If he survives" Sweet Pea laughs and I roll my eyes
"So first Ella now you" Archie starts to get angry
"Archie"
"These are the guys who attacked me. Who attacked Veronica Dilton your friends"
"Friends? Is that what you are because the last time I checked we were friends and you put a goddamn gun against my head"
"El don't" Jughead puts an arm in front of me
"You know what I only came here to tell you to stay away from Betty" I scoff brushing past Archie to stand next to Sweet Pea "she doesn't want to see you anymore" Sweet Pea looks at me as if to see if I know anything I just shrug my shoulders
"Screw you. I saw her yesterday she was fine"
"No dude she's been wanting to break up with you she's been agonising over it"
"And so she sent you? What a bitch. I swear to god if I see her I'll..." I clench my jaws in anger
"Ella stop" Jughead raises his voice
"She saw where you were headed Jughead. Hell we all did. Look what happened when Ella started hanging around with them more. She knows you can't be with them and with her"
"Tell Betty I got the message" Archie starts to walk off while we clear a path for him
"Oh and Archie, step foot around here again, mess with my brother again you'll regret it. And you can tell the other Northsiders that. Also tell Reggie I'm done giving him drugs to sell, he can figure it out himself"

We head over to the Quarry, all the Serpents in a line. I'm stood at the end with Sweet Pea and Tall Boy
"You sure you want to be here for this Princess?" Tall Boy asks
"Yeah. I need to support him"
"I know but you know how these things go down" Pea now says
"I know" I breath out and watch Jughead take punches from either side of him, although watching it makes me feel sick I wanna know that he doesn't get seriously hurt. Finally he reaches Sweet Pea
"Is that all you got?" Sweet Pea hits him across the face with brass knuckles causing me to look away, when I look back Jugs on the ground come on Jug get up I think to myself. He finally stands up earning the respect of Sweet Pea. Tall Boy hands me a jacket, I help him put it on as Sweet Pea says
"Welcome to the Serpents"

Toni, Jug and I head back to the trailer. I get some ice for Jughead and help clean his wounds up
"You're gonna have a hard time hiding that from Betty" Toni says, I nudge her and give her a look as if to say stop
"I don't think that will be an issue now. We broke up"
"I'm sorry" Toni says
"I'm going to go to bed guys. You going to be ok Jug?"
"Yeah I'll be fine" I get up and put a hand on his shoulder. I walk over to my bedroom door I go to close it when I see Toni lean in and kiss my brother. I quietly shut it and get in bed what the hell are you thinking Juggie I think to myself while staring at the ceiling.

In the morning I get out of bed feeling a little off. Must be the flu or a cold coming from the other night I think to myself. I walk out my room and see Jughead on the couch. I slap him behind the head
"What were you thinking?" I whisper yell
"What?"
"You and Toni" I spat at him "I saw that kiss" I then see Toni walking out in Juggies clothes, I shoot them both a look
"What?"
"Seriously Toni? My brother?"
"El nothing happened ok I'm just borrowing his clothes"
"Whatever. I'm going over to Pea's. Try and not kiss again ok"
I get up and leave them getting on my bike ridding over to Sweet Peas trailer. I knock the door then walk in
"Hey baby. Are you ok? You look a little.... ill" I look to see Sweet Pea without a shirt on
"Yeah I think I might be coming down with the flu" Pea wraps my up in his arms
"Come on let's have a lazy day in bed yeah?" I nod my head and follow Sweet Pea into his room. I flop down and Pea sliding in next to me, pulling me on to his chest, I begin to drift off to sleep.
