Chapter 9

Our story continues. The mayors jubilee was supposed to change everything. Be a new start, but when we woke up the next morning Riverdale was still, at its heart, a haunted town

"Ella!" Jughead shouts from across the Wyrm "it's Fred Andrews he's been shot" I get up quickly from my seat and run with Jughead to my bike. I rush over to the hospital, getting some disgusted looks once there. I see Archie, covered in blood with his head in his hands and others around him
"Archie" I sigh. He looks up at me, his eyes red raw from crying "I'm so sorry. Who did this? I'll kill them" I say getting angry
"Hey I don't know who you are but you can get out" the brunette girl says
"Oh can it. You have no idea who Fred is to me"
"Ella, Veronica calm down" Jughead says
"V, my dad helped take care of Ella" I sit next to Archie with my arm around him
"What happened?"
"I came out the bathroom and there was this man. A thief, wearing this hood with a gun on Pop Tate. Then he pointed it at my dad and he fired"
"Oh god Archie" Veronica sighs
"And then he...."
"Shhh it's ok" I rub Archie's back
"He bolted. I was holding my dad. Pop called an ambulance and it didn't come so I drove here. Maybe I should have waited maybe I made it worse"
"Arch look at me" Archie looks up from his hands "you did the right right ok?"
"I bet it was a Southsider" Veronica says quietly
"You want to say that again bitch. My Serpents wouldn't do that to Fred, heck he's the only one of you Northsiders who doesn't hate us"
"Princess calm down" Jughead says
"Princess?" Betty looks at me confused
"Yeah our dad is whats known as the Serpent King so El got the nickname as Princess"
"Oh" Betty says pretending she knows what Jugs on about
"Well there's no new information, your dads in surgery. He'll be in there for a while" Alice Cooper says walking over. She looks at me "Ella what are you doing here? Guilty conscience maybe"
"Whatever Alice. You and I both know this wasn't a Serpent. Ghoulie maybe and if I find out it was I will...."
"Ella that's enough" Jughead says
"Mum you know Ella? How?"
"It doesn't matter" Alice says putting a hand on her daughters shoulder
"I'm going make a few calls see if anyone knows anything about what happened"
"I thought you said one of yours didn't do it?" Veronica spits
"I did and I still stand by that but the Serpents are good at finding out information, I'll be back in a bit Archie" Archie nods his head as I walk out the room.

"Why do you care so much about that damn Northsider?"
"He helped look after me when I was young, when dad couldn't" I'm lying on Sweet Peas chest playing with his rings on his fingers while he rubs my arm
"Sweet Pea I know I said I don't do relationships and there's a reason, when I....." I'm cut off by my phone ringing "hey Tall Boy whats up? Ok yeah I'll see you then" I put the phone down "I gotta go"
"El what were you going to say?"
"Doesn't matter I'll tell you another day" I lean down and kiss him. I grab my clothes and put them on, finally putting my jacket on "I'll see you tomorrow Pea"
"See you Princess" I walk out and head over to my trailer seeing Tall Boy already there.

"What's this about?" I see Tall Boy and a guy in a chair beaten. Before Tall Boy could tell me Jughead walks through the door
"What the hell guys what is this? El?"
"I don't know I just got here"
"Went out like you asked Princess. Guy was holding court at the Whyte Wyrm. Talking about how if Fred Andrews was gonna let Hiram Lodges bitch run the show, fire his crew, it's good he was shoot. Thought we might press him"
"Jesus Tall Boy" I rub my hands on my face "what did you find out?" I ask looking back at Tall Boy
"After a lengthy cross examination, yeah we concluded he was just being a loudmouth"
"Well why's he here then if he didn't do anything?" Jughead shouts as I start to pace back and forth
"So you could see we done what Princess asked"
"I didn't ask for this Tall Boy" I shout at him "fuck why couldn't you have just asked around" I wave my hands around annoyed
"Just deal with this Tall Boy. Get rid of him but if this comes round to bite us on the ass I'm...."
"I got it Princess"
"Come on Jug"
"Where are we going?"
"The Whyte Wyrm to get a drink" I feel like this is all I ever do.
