Chapter 26

Jughead, Betty, Veronica and Archie have all decided to go on a little vacation while I'm stuck helping Toni behind the bar because someone called in sick. Honestly though it's kinda nice, it's like how it used to be, just me, Toni, Fangs and Sweet Pea. Of course the boys are playing pool I wouldn't expect them doing anything less
"Hey Princess can I get a whisky on the rocks?" one of the older Serpents ask
"Sure" I put down my rag and grab a glass and begin to pour
"Hey everyone" my dad walks in grabbing everyone's attention. I hand of the whisky and fold my arms waiting for my dad to talk
"The rent has been payed off, fully. No one is loosing their homes" everyone starts to cheer, but I feel off like something's going to happen. Dad walks over to me "why don't you look happy?"
"I am, it's just what's the catch?"
"There isn't one. Even though Jughead refused to keep Hiram's name out of it he still payed the trailer park in full as in he bought it and said we can stay. We need to celebrate"
"Dad think about this for a second. Why would he....?"
"I don't know El but we're staying. I need to call your brother" dad walks off, Fangs and Pea walk over to the bar
"Ella why aren't you smiling? We're staying" Fangs says patting Pea on the back
"Doesn't it seem a little.... odd. Like why would Hiram pay everyone's back rent and buy the trailer park? He wants to build on the Southside so why would he help to keep the trailer park? It just doesn't make sense first the drive in now Sunnyside..."
"Ok I love you but you need to chill out and stop thinking about everything and just be happy that we aren't going to be homeless" I smile at Pea and turn around
"Yeah for now" I whisper to myself as I pour the boys a drink. I hand it over to them and take a shot glass for myself
"Plus your starting to sound like Jughead" Toni says laughing
"Oh god no" I pour some vodka in and take a shot. I then pour another and take that shot
"Easy there El don't want to get drunk, your working" Toni says taking the bottle off me and the shot glass. I roll my eyes and laugh
"Pea my shift finishes in 30 minutes wanna go grab a bite at pops then go to the movies?" I smile at Sweet Pea leaning over the counter, I just need to take my mind off all this shit, at least for now
"Of course anything for you Princess" Sweet Pea leans over and we kiss, I can practically hear the eye rolls from Toni and Fangs
"Flirting with the bar tender tut tut" Jagger walks over to the bar slapping Pea on the back. Sweet Pea and I pull away
"I think we need to find you someone Jagger, that is unless you already have someone in sights" I say cleaning a glass "then again you have been busy lately, not hanging out with us as much. Any secret rendezvous you haven't told us about?" I raise an eyebrow up at him
"No Ella. Your definitely Jugheads sister, can't keep your nose out of other people business" this causes everyone to laugh
"Hey" I throw the tea towel at Jagger shaking my head.

My shift ends and Pea and I head over to Pops. I see Kevin sat on his own eating fries
"Hey kev you ok?"
"Just peachy" he says popping a fry in his mouth and turning away from me. Pea and I sit down and look at the menu. We order our food when the door jangles, I look over to see Moose and Midge talking to Kevin. They walk off and he gets up bringing his food over to the table they just sat down at, the one directly behind me
"So Kevin who are you meeting at the movies? Some dreamboat?" Midge asks
"Babe are you really listening to their conversation right now?" Sweet Pea whispers leaning over the table. I put my finger to my lips
"I'm just going to see this gay rom-com alone"
"What?" Midge exclaims. I take sip of my milkshake "no no that's crazy. We need to find you someone. What about one of those Southside guys. I hear one of them's gay" I give Sweet Pea a devilish smile
"Nope. No way" Pea whispers once again. I hear Kevin sigh
"If it's Fangs Fogarty I don't think I can date someone called Fangs" I roll my eyes
"I dunno he's a pretty good looking dude" Moose now only speaks
"Please what do you know you big lug?" Kevin awkwardly chuckles at Midge
"Babe come on stop listening into their conversation. It doesn't concern us"
"Just hang on" I turn around and tap Kevin
"Babe stop trying to play matchmaker"
"Ok I know this guy who is out and proud and I think you two would be perfect together"
"Thank you but no thank you"
"See Princess he doesn't want to date Jagger now come on stop meddling and eat so we can go" I groan
"Fine" I turn back around and we carry on with our own conversation.

Finally once we have finished we head over to the movie theatre
"Hey what's Toni doing here?" I ask Sweet Pea
"How am I meant to know" I take his hand and walk over to her
"Hey Toni. You meeting anyone here?"
"Fangs bailed so no its just me myself and I"
"Hmm just like Kevin. You know there's a few hot g...."
"Babe you've meddled enough for one night no"
"Fine. Come sit with us if you want"
"Thanks, but I'll pass. I know you two won't actually be watching the movie"
"Hey we're not that bad" I slightly hit her. Toni smiles and me
"Uh huh. Well I'm gonna get a drink I'll see you in there" I smile at her as she walks off. Sweet Pea turns me to look at him
"Ok why are you playing matchmaker all of a sudden? You've never been interested in others love lives"
"I guess that's what love does to you. I want everyone to love someone just like I love you"
"Your going soft"
"What and you aren't?" I chuckle "come on let's go grab a seat" we sit at the back of the movie theatre, just before the trailers start I see Toni walking in with Cheryl
"I thought she said she wasn't meeting anyone? and since when did they become friends? I thought..."
"Ella please that's enough. Jagger was right you really are your brothers sister" I frown and fold my arms
"Come on you can't be mad at me you love me" Sweet Pea puts his arm around me and pulls me into him "and I love you" he places a kiss on my head
"Whatever" I hear him laugh and I smile a little glad that he is mine and he loves me just as much as I love him.
