Chapter 47

The last 3 weeks have just been boring, I got home a week after having the baby but Adeline has had to stay in the NICU a little longer, but she's doing well considering she was so premature. I'm not back at school but I am doing online classes, I need to take my mind of things. Thankfully I have a breast pump and can pump so that Adeline can be fed through a tube in the NICU and Pea and I have visited everyday. Josie got out of hospital and now we're back to figuring out this G&G situation, Jughead and Sweet Pea have now got Fangs to help out which I'm grateful for, knowing one of my best friend friends isn't deep into the game
"Jug, Minettas trashing tent city looking for Archie" I'm sat on the couch in Jugs trailer
"Alright I propose a manhunt of our own, every serpent searching for Joaquin. I don't want a stone left unturned" apparently Joaquin escaped juvie when Archie did
"Jug. As much as I want to find Joaquin and give him a peice of my mind Pea and I have a baby in the hospital. Joaquin is kinda the least of of worries at the moment and once word gets to the Ghoulies that I've had the baby they are going to do anything in their power to use her to destroy us"
"Babe I understand where your coming from but Serpents don't shiv other Serpents. What got into him?"
"Well according to Archie Joaquin did it for Warden Norton and when he confronted Betty he called Archie the red paladin plus the warden poisoned himself with cyanide and blueberry fresh aid. And get this he also worked for Riverdale High before the detention centre" Jug says pacing back and forth
"So the question is, was he playing G&G with someone or for someone?" I say in almost a realisation
"Damn it. Since his dead now Joaquin is the only one who could know the answer" Sweet Pea crosses his arms over his chest
"Didn't Kevin say something about how Joaquins joined a new gang? What if it's the Ghoulies?" I shakily say
"He wouldn't betray us like that. No not after what Malachai did to you or wants to do" Fangs says
"What if it's those Gargoyle creeps?" Pea says
"Could well be. And if the gang is working for the king then they're gonna take us right to him. Fangs Sweet Pea you two are going to look for Joaquin. Ella I need your help"

"Hey Fangs you find Joaquin?" Jug asks as he answers his phone putting it on loud speaker
"Centerville Serpents spotted him at the last resort youth hostel we're on our way there now"
"Grab him take him to fox forest near the footbridge Ella and I will met you there"
"On it" Jug ends the call and dad walks in
"You two going somewhere?" Dad asks
"Yeah were going to meet the Serpents" Jug says and we try to walk past him
"Yeah like hell you are" dad pulls out two handcuffs. He handcuffs me to Jughead then handcuffs Jug to the fridge door
"What the hell are you doing dad?" I ask
"What I should have done the moment I found out your both playing G&G. Your addict, it's like a drug it's got into your blood Ella you have a baby in the hospital"
"Dont you think I know that? Dad I'm not addicted. If anything I hate the game, I'm the one trying to stop the others playing" I yell
"I'm not addicted either. I just need to ascend so I can find the gargoyle king and put an end to all this"
"Well Juggie that definitely didn't sound like your addicted" I scoff at him "what happened to figuring out what the game is and why people are dying"
"She's right boy. You definitely don't sound like an addict. My mistake"
"Maybe you are addicted, not so much by the game but by figuring this all out. Dad let my go I promise I'm not addicted"
"I know Princess but I can't have you running around getting addicted next"
"It's time for your twin to sober up. And your going to help him" dad walks out the trailer
"Damn it"
"Have you got your phone?" Jug asks
"No. It's over there. I might be able to reach it"
"Ow ow ow" Jug says as I try to reach for my phone
"I cant reach it"
"Damn it" we decide to sit down and wait till dad gets home

"Ella I'm sorry"
"For what?" I look at him confused
"For dragging you into this. Honestly what was I thinking? You and Sweet Pea have a baby fighting for her life in the hospital and I'm dragging you both into this game"
"Jug your keeping me and Sweet Pea from having a breakdown. Adeline is doing well, who knows we might be able to bring her home soon but for now I want to help you"
"Jug" we turn our head to the door opening
"Are you..." we see Betty walk in
"Betty. You hungry?" Jughead opens the fridge
"What the hell"
"You don't happen to have a bobby pin do you?" I ask
"What do you take me for Ella. I always have one. Did your dad do this?"
"Yep" both Jug and I say at the same time
"Doesn't like me playing G&G"
"Well I mean to be fair Jug neither do I. Apparently am handcuffed to him to help him stop"
"I thought you were just trying to figure out what's going on?"
"Yeah well dad doesn't know that" I sigh as Betty unclasps the handcuff
"Also how did the sit down with the parents go?" Jug asks
"Well Penelope Blossom said that Daryl Doily is the one who poisoned the chalices"
"Dilton's dad?" I question standing up
"Isn't he..." Jug starts but Betty finishes his sentence
"Dead yeah pretty convenient right? The one man who can't confirm or deny Penelopes story"
"I don't by that one bit" I say
"Neither do I" Betty agrees as Jug nods his head "I called Dr Curdle Junior and asked is he's pull Mr Doileys autopsy report for us"
"Betty do you think you can handle this one yourself. Sweet Pea and Fangs think they man have found Joaquin"
"Uh yeah but just be careful. Both of you"
"I'll leave you two a minute and start the bike up" I walk out and a few minutes later Jughead gets on his bike.
