Arielle's parents were obsessed with The Little Mermaid when it came out, that same year they got their baby girl and game her the mermaid's name. As she grew she watched the movie over and over again, hoping to find herself a Prince and move off to find somewhere to make a home. When she met her first boyfriend, her dreams were crushed, he became abusive and rude and she quickly learned that she needed to be her own hero. As the years ticked by she worked to become the best fighter she could be, but it was all cut short when the Third in Command found out she rejected his son the day after his wife was brutally murdered by rogues. She feels responsible for all the deaths that happened that day, but is also scared her only friend will hate her for it if she knew. Seeing Aislinn find her mate - a man who has definitely done some horrible things in his life makes her worry about who her mate will be. Although, she still has a small light of hope that he'll come and save her from everything.
