"THAT'S your game plan?!" Diane exclaimed to a care free Meliodas sitting in front of her.

All the sins were back inside the Boar Hat and were gathered around a table to discuss the plans for tonight's invasion.

"Well, I don't see why not," Meliodas shrugged with his hands supporting the back of his head.

Diane rolled her eyes and turned to Ban. "Ban, please convince him that he's setting us up to get killed!"

He stared at her with blank eyes. She grew frustrated at the lack of seriousness the two boys had and retreated to the far side of the room. King floated by her side and reassured her that she did what she could.

"U-Uhm.. maybe Diane's right," you piped up.

"Come on Meliodas," King began, "you can't expect us to just infiltrate the kingdom by simply walking in and gradually making our way to the castle?"

The curl on top of Meliodas' head bounced with delight. "Yes! That's exactly what I expect."

King sighed while you crossed your arms in disagreement.

"I also expected to be able to share more about the plan, but you guys decided to rudely interrupt me," the captain added with duck lips and wavering hands.

You looked at him right as he looked back at you. You noticed that his thoughts weren't completely shared as his slim smile slowly dropped.

"They expect us tonight, whether we sneak in or show up in style," he explained, "But there's also innocent civilians being controlled by the demonized holy knights. And who knows how long into our plan till they decide to initiate their own?"

"What's your point, Cap?" Ban asked with suspicious confrontation.

"I'll deal with the grandmasters alone while you guys deal with the commotion in the village. Of course, you'd be distracting the assembled holy knights."

Diane perked up from leaning against the wall. "You want to deal with them yourself?"

Meliodas simply nodded.

"Does the name 'Seven Deadly Sins' not come with the obvious team effort? You could die!"

"Diane," Merlin warned.

She ignored Merlin and continued. "We get that you're facing your own demon race here, but you never know what extremes are taken for tonight. And what extremes are taken just for you."

"Sir Meliodas..." Elizabeth placed a hand on his shoulder. "Please allow us to assist you more after we do our part."

He stayed silent and allowed for more protests to pour from each members mouth. You stood there and watched as his frozen expression never budged.

"Captain, usually I go with whatever flow you're setting, but you trying to steal the stoplight is bugging me," Ban spoke.

"I personally don't care," Gowther said.

Meliodas looked over his shoulder to hear King's input. "What about you?"

King was shocked from his sudden interest in his input. He hesitated for a bit, but replied with enough confidence.

"...We want to help till the very end."

Meliodas sighed and titled his head. "Well..."

You started to put a hand up in effort to share your words, but something in you caused you to stop midway. You hesitated for a moment and brought it back down to your side.

If he doesn't care about what the other sins are saying, why would my opinion matter?

There was a slight pause before anyone dared to shift the tension.

"All of you will start from the outer parts of the village and make your way inwards. Stabilize as many holy knights you encounter," Meliodas explained.

No one interrupted this time.

"Gowther, Ban, and King will deal with the East side. Merlin has already contacted Arthur and will gather his army at the South side to diminish as much of the front guards as possible. Diane, Elizabeth, and (Y/N) are in charge of the West. As for me, I'll be heading straight for the castle from the North. It'll be a little surprise for them to see that I didn't attack alongside with everyone else."

Meliodas crossed his arms and closed his eyes. "We'll be arriving the minute the sun vanishes behind the horizon."

"Whatever you say, Cap," Ban said, being the first to start the chain reaction of vocalized agreements.

You mumbled, "yes," under your breath and quickly felt cold hands gently lift yours.

You met the eyes of a smiling Elizabeth. Diane stood next to her with the same, kind mien that was always freely displayed to you. Their presence was enough to comfort you, which brought a small smile onto your lips.

Elizabeth softly rubbed your hand with her thumb. "Let's make some last minute preparations, okay?"

You nodded and sighed. "Yes, of course! Let's go."

The sins dispersed to their own areas to wait for the small amount of time left to diminish. As the girls turned their backs on you and walked towards the door, you desperately fought the urge to ask how they could accept Meliodas' lone soldier proposal so easily. But even though this matter created such an itch in your brain, a plan determined by their Captain was final.

"Miss Lily, Sir Hendrickson requests for you in his chamber."

Lily sat on the stone sill, overlooking the wide range of building chaos outside that was being especially set up for the guests tonight.

She idly swung both legs back inside the room. Her glare pierced through the messenger's helmet.

"For what?" she hissed.

"I am not sure Miss Lily. But if I were to take a guess, it's a discussion regarding your role for tonight."

Lily rolled her eyes. "Pfft...my role..." she mumbled.

The messenger lowered their head. "I can request Sir Hendrickson to give you more ti-"

"No," she replied with frustration. "I'm going right now, just leave me alone."

As commanded, they swiftly left the room and gave Lily the silence and burden she was struggling to balance. She blocked out any other thought threatening to ruin her fixed mindset and started for the Grandmaster's chamber.

My role? Yeah. We'll see what you have in mind.
