Mi Na widened her eyes and gasped from the unexpected, and backed off immediately while looking at her drenched self, smelling the awful taste of too much tea on her. It surely smelled sweet, but to her, it was displeasing. The girls began laughing nonstop while Mi Na only looked at Ji An with shocked eyes, traumatized, disappointed, sad, and most of all, angered.
"U-unni-" she called before she was immediately interrupted by the princess angrily.
"Learn your place, you insolent peasant. I do so admire my father for being generous." Ji An fiercely retorted like a provoked snake, looking at Mi Na with fiery eyes. "He may have taken you inside our big house and even consider you his precious daughters, but know this for once, wretch. I will never consider any of you as my sister, because I prefer life that way. For once, I am not your unnie, and I never will be, so stop calling me your sister in front of everyone else before I'll make you learn the hard way. Now, go back to your position and join your fellow drunkards back to their training, servant."
With what Ji An had said from her mouth, Mi Na's heart shattered to pieces unfixable. It was deeply painful to hear such insult and mockery from the princess herself, what's more embarrassing was that she was utterly humiliated in front of many girls who would soon spread her disgrace. She sobbed, sobbing hard, tears streaming down her cheeks with no more care. The laughs, the torment, the hate, it was all too much for her to bear.
"Why?" Mi Na spoke with her frail voice, nearly breaking down. Ji An stopped laughing and looked at her in disbelief.
"Why?" Ji An scoffed bitterly, looking at her girls with raised eyebrows. "All that humiliation and warning and you still managed to mouth a damn 'why'? You truly are a wonderful person, Mi Na." she hurriedly moved to the younger girl, about to land a slap on her face before suddenly someone grabbed her hand, shocking her. The girls all gasped and turned to look at who stopped Ji An from slapping Mi Na, and turns out, it was none other than the king himself, Gwangman, her father. "A-appa?!" she raised her eyebrows, gasping.
Gwangman was wordless, he only looked at his daughter with angry eyes and proceeded to look at Mi Na with soft one, feeling pity on her. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes before opening them again.
"Take her back to her room and wash her." Gwangman sternly instructed the handmaiden, in which she complied as she immediately brought Mi Na along with her, leaving the place. "All of you girls, leave, now!" he growled. The girls immediately stood up and rushed out of the small house, leaving Ji An alone with the king. He sighed deeply before Ji An suddenly moved her hand harshly away from him, looking at him with an upset face. "What do you think you're doing, Song Ji An?!" he huffed.
"What do you think I am doing, appa?!" the princess scoffed, folding her arms after brushing her messy hair.
"I did not raise you to treat others like that!" Gwangman scorned, putting his arms on his back while looking at his daughter with disappointed eyes. "They're your sisters, you should treat them like-"
"Argh, again with that horseshit, appa!" Ji An groaned, massaging her temple in distress. "How many times have I told you, appa they're not. My. Sisters!" she hissed toxically. "It's my right to say so, and you can't force me to love them as my sisters, you know that!"
