"No matter how hard we try, Mediums will always be Mediums, and humans will always be humans." he chuckled. "The only thing that matters is that we joined The Horn so that we could make a better world. People may surely see us as evil malicious monsters, but they would never understand the sufferings we have endured in their hands."
"I suppose that's an exception for your wife and your son?" Maleom tilted his head, and Sarom immediately nodded, causing the other two Black Knights to chuckle together. "Tell me, your son's name is Yeolgu, am I right?" he asked. Sarom nodded before Balmong spoke.
"If he is a Medium, he could maybe join us. The Lord told me he's thinking of creating a subordinate group similar to the Black Knights, consisting of ten potential members. Your son could be one of the first in line." their leader suggested. Sarom only shrugged, not so sure of the quite risky decision.
"Soon enough, time will tell whether he is a Medium or not. You know the common way to see if one is a Medium, right? Just observe if said person is able to see a spirit. Sadly, there have been only a few spirits wandering in this realm nowadays." Sarom chuckled, sharpening his cleaver with a medium-sized rock. "If I die, or perhaps maybe when I die, I will pass this cleaver down to Yeolgu, I am sure he would use this weapon better than I do." he added, looking at the cleaver attentively.
"Among all the easier and more effective weapons you could have used, why choose an ordinary cleaver?" Maleom inquired as he moved closer to Sarom, patting his back softly. The Black Knight chuckled from his statement, stretching his arms to refresh his body.
"You talk too much, go get some rest now, will you?" Sarom huffed. The Black Knight with the spear shook his head in disbelief and chuckled too, standing up on the ground with a little groan as he stretched his body, walking back to his resting place. Balmong, who was standing beside Sarom, looked at the moon with amazed eyes, quite fascinated by its gleaming beauty. "I heard some stories that say if the moon shines bright it means that the Elder that created it is currently flying around the moon, flying gracefully." he conversed.
"It is perhaps true. There are five Elders who created the gods." Balmong spoke with his high knowledge of said beings. He studied very much about history, and spent his free time learning about the legends in the world. "Guardian of the sea, Seongjae, whose speed is quicker than any sea animal. Haekal, lord of Hell and the Underworld, whose fur is as soft as silk but his claws sharper than even the sharpest swords. Arakan, the one who created the moon, the Elder who spends her time flying around in the skies, her voice so soothing it will make anyone feel at peace. Ganmeu, the giant snake with silver scales who resides inside Lake Boonku. My sword is made out of his scale." Balmong explained, amazing Sarom with his exceptionally wide mind. "And lastly, the most powerful of them all, the one who watches over the heavenly skies, the one above all, Sang Gang." he breathed out.
"The legends were indeed wild as I have predicted." Sarom chuckled in disbelief, shaking his head slowly. "It is a greatly wonderful surprise that you know so well about the legends themselves. I have been a Black Knight for nearly ten years, and yet I barely even know about the Elders." he breathed out, stretching his neck, causing some popping sounds. "I'm going to get some rest. You better get some too, tomorrow, Gariya will be nothing but ruins." he patted Balmong's shoulder before leaving.
The leader stood silently, continuing to look at the bluish sky, admiring the moon. The past that he had suffered, the mistreat he had gone through, it was simply past, and he must focus on the future, he must focus on creating a better world together with The Horn. And so Balmong sighed, thinking about his belief.
