"I guess you all should guard this area in case there are intruders, arachi?" Mi Na instructed her men.
"Yes, understood, Missis Mi Na!" they exclaimed in unison and went into position. The girl nodded and went together with Han Sou and Ji Won to follow the brothers-in-law and Soo Hye and Tae Han to Baek Sil's house. When they all entered, the sound of metals clanking echoed to their ears, hammers hitting swords and swords being sunk in buckets of water.
"The smell of metal is everywhere." Ji Won covered her nose.
"Get used to it. Imagine being a blacksmith." Heung Mol huffed.
"Is that him? Is that Kang Baek Sil?" Han Sou asked, pointing towards the big and tall man who was hammering a sword with a big hammer.
"There's no one else here, so who else do you think I am?" Baek Sil exclaimed, continuing to mind his own business as he had no time nor care for other people's as of now. "If you're not here for weapons or anything related to what I'm doing then leave. I have no time for nothing." the man growled.
"We have something to ask from you. We are from Gariya, and we are looking for The Horn, we plan to bring you along with us as an alliance." Mi Na cleared her throat and folded her arms. "Perhaps with someone as well-known as you, we can be helped greatly."
"I have nothing to do with The Horn, The Horn has nothing to do with me, leave leave, you're disturbing me here aish."
"You were once known as the man who break walls and the man who can carry a horse all by yourself, weren't you?" Soo Hye tried her best to persuade Baek Sil. "Local villagers called you the Bear, you were their hero..."
"Well then their hero is long dead. I have nothing else to do with my life other than making weapons for people who pay me enough money to make more. That's what I do now, and will you please excuse me? I have weapons to craft. They don't craft themselves on their own." he scoffed and walked past them, moving to get some swords to hammer.
"Is this what your daughter would have wanted?" Mi Na spoke, causing Baek Sil to freeze on spot as he immediately stopped moving, not able to utter a single word. "Would she have wanted to see her father spending the rest of his life living in misery? I don't think so, Kang Baek Sil." she sighed. "Please, think again, if you help us, you can stay with us in Gariya and live in happiness with many people around."
"You don't speak of my daughter, I never gave you permission to do so." Baek Sil hissed, raising his index finger. "My daughter is long dead, killed cold-bloodedly by those bloodthirsty bastards I will never forgive, and I will always hate myself for that." he growled, clenching his fists.
"But perhaps you can make amends with your inner demons and let your guilt go." Han Sou stated, approaching the big and buff man bravely. "Let the past go, your daughter is in peace already, why aren't you?" he sighed.
"You speak as if it's easy, boy. Let me tell you what, losing someone you love is the hardest part of living. It's not easy to handle, and it's certainly not easy to forget." Baek Sil shook his head.
"You may try, Baek Sil. It's not hard to try either." Han Sou smiled. "We can help you with your problems, trust us. We are people of Gariya, and we always make our promises." he nodded proudly. Baek Sil put his hammer on the table beside him as well as the sword, and turned to look at a small painting of his late daughter, the person he missed the most. It still struck his heart like a lighting. He sighed and nodded.
