Chapter 11

Midnight

Night came and we were all tired. Maybe dahil sa biyahe at sa pinaggagawa ngayong araw.

Sa cottage na lang namin kami kumain ng dinner. The squad offer to wash the dishes but Ate Ada disallow them. Ako? I just stayed sa veranda so she won't make me do an errand. I'm not their maid 'no.

Nang mapansin kong halos wala ng tao sa salas ay dumiretso na ako sa kuwarto. My brows furrowed when I saw Mamita sleeping on the single bed, which is my supposed bed. On the other bed naman is si Gab and Kuya Daniel. I pursed my lips tightly, forcing myself not to make any noise.

Saan ako matutulog?

The question in my mind was answered when Ate Ada came out from the comfort room. Hinila niya ako papunta sa veranda ng kuwarto at isinarado ang glass door. I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Where am I gonna sleep? Bakit nando'n si Mamita?" 

She sighed. "Sikip na doon kila Daisy. Doon ka muna sa kila Jhaylo sa taas."

My brows puckered at her.

"No way! Ayaw ko nga do'n!"

Tinakpan niya ang bibig ko at nilingon sila Kuya Daniel. They're still asleep.

"Doon na lang may free na kama at space."

"But Ate!"

"O sige ako ang matutulog doon, ikaw ang tumabi kay Daniel," she challenged. "Matutulog lang naman, e. Wala namang gagawing masama sayo ang mga 'yon.

I almost puke at the thought. Kadiri lang ha! Like, imagine, me sleeping beside her husband. I don't know if it's just my dirty mind or what pero ew talaga! Feels like a sin.

I frown and just gather some of my stuffs, including my sweater. It's really cold and I need something to warm me up. My sister walked with me hanggang sa loft. She knocked on the door and Genesis was the one who opened it.

My God, sawang sawa na ako sa mukha niya.

"Hi Ate," he greeted.

I can hear some noise from inside, like chatterings and such. I can't help but rolled my eyes. I mean, okay it's fun hanging with them pero I'm still uncomfortable 'no. You cannot force me to like them punctually.

"May free pang kama diyan 'di ba? Pasensiya na pero sikip na kasi sa kuwarto namin. Okay lang ba na dito si Lalie?"

I'm wondering why she's asking politely pa, she's the older one 'no. She has the authority. If I were to ask, I will just barge in their room and tucked myself to bed. Easy as that, no negotation. It's not as if I need to explain pa.

Jhaylo suddenly peeked.

"Hi! Oo naman Ate! Tabi tayo Lalie!"

Hindi agad ako nakakilos ng hilahin niya ako papasok ng kuwarto. Unti-unti kong binawi ang kamay ko sa kanya. I held it and massaged a bit. Nabigla kasi ako sa pagkakahila niya. She's too excited that she didn't notice na her grip on me is a bit tight.

Her eyes widened when she looked at me and then to my wrist.

"Hala sorry!" she apologized.

"No, it's okay. I'm fine."

Cora and Reinier who's sitting on the carpet suddenly came to my sight. I can conclude that they were playing uno awhile ago.

My eyes then again darted on the door. Genesis gazed at me curiously. I rolled my eyes at him before looking at my Ate who's eyeing me sharply. Nagpaalam din naman agad siya kaya naiwan na lang kaming lima.
