Lukas's POV

I couldn't focus on my notes as she looked as cute as ever, even more so when she adorably whined to get my password and I had to hold it together when she mocked me about it being 1234. I heard her type in the background as these notes were not making much sense to me. She was squinting her eyes at the screen. I don't know what she's looking at but I hope it's her paper, meaning she didn't lose it.Cute.I thought when she bit her lip, but I soon saw something was up. Trying to focus on my notes was not going to happen as I watched her read, her face becoming more clouded by the second. Oh bells...She lost her paper. I wanted to get up and hug her but before I could push my chair back she ran off, tears rolling down her face and the door of my bedroom slamming behind her.

Baby... My face fell as I sighed, pushing back my chair anyways. I hated that she was upset over not finding that paper. I would be upset too if all my effort was proved to be a lost cause. Maybe I can try to find it? I looked over at my closed bedroom door, when I sat down behind my laptop, entering my password and unlocking the screen to an email. "Fuck!"I instantly cussed when I saw which email it was and most importantly what it said, rereading it even though I already read it a thousand times before. Why was I so stupid to leave it open! I pushed a hand through my hair to calm my nerves but that did nothing. She wasn't supposed to find out! Fuck! I cussed more while rubbing my face with both hands and my heartrate accelerated like a high speed train leaving the station.

It's not w-... She just didn't need to know!I panicked even more so when flashes of her running off with tears falling down her face swirled through my head. Of course she's crying! You asshole. Do something about it.I shoved my chair back and rushed over to my bedroom. I took a deep breath, calming my thoughts, before carefully sticking my head inside the room. My eyes wandered over her as she clearly was in tears, my heart breaking at the sound of her sobs. Baby.

"Bells?" I whispered when I gazed over her, my eyes lingering on the blue velvet box clenched between her hand. She wasn't supposed to see that either. "What are you doing?" I said as I walked into the room, getting closer to her with each step, also with each step a loud heartbeat going through my head. She has seen it I'm sure of it. I kept my eyes on the box as she continued to cry. I couldn't help but smile at the memories of buying it for her. "When I went out to get you those Lilac shoes I walked past a window and I saw this..." I whispered carefully but she just squeezed her eyes shut, my heartbeat now pinching my throat shut.

"Lukas don't, please..." She almost begged me to stop but there was no way back now, she needed to know...

"When I saw it, I knew it was perfect... Like it screamed your name from across the street." I chuckled at the thought. I took a step closer to fold my hands over hers so the both of us were holding the box. This tiny box meant the world, as it was my ultimate promise to her to make her happy for the rest of her life, sealing it with the biggest label we could give ourselves. "I got it because I knew that I was going to give something like this to you one day. To ask you..." I whispered before briefly pausing so I could study the look on her face. She looked up at me, tears still flowing from her kind eyes, a soft smile clouded with sadness covering her face. "I was definitely going to wait until after your graduation and when timing was right but I just had to get that ring already... It was, is, the ring." I whispered once more, my hand leaving hers to cup her face, my fear fading a little as she melted into it. "I never stopped you know..."

"What?" She whispered, her voice breaking like glass.

"Loving you... I never stopped loving you." I said confidently as my gaze held on to hers, just staring at her like she was the most precious thing on this planet... Not like...She was, is.
