"All set?" Mia's voice instantly pulls my head out of the clouds while I look at the reservations for tonight. All tables are booked and I don't know how the hell they are going to make it without us.

"We're all booked." I widen my eyes while I look up at her, my brows pulled up to my hairline if that was even possible.

She sighs deeply, yet a smirk covering her face, before taking my elbow to pull away from the computer. "Bells, we have been a full house every night for the past seven years. I'm sure staff will do just fine, we hired some pretty capable people. Not Sure why I work here though." She laughs while pulling me further towards the entrance of the restaurant, our restaurant. Oh yeah that's right, you missed a few years. Well, as soon as Mia and I graduated we combined forces and for that matter our love for food and opened our own beach view restaurant. It's the place to be, the coast's hotspot as we're called by the headlines. Life has been crazy but we made it work. At least it's not as messy as it used to be...Now back to me leaving this place for the busiest night of the year.

I shake my head at her words, and throw in a Davis eyeroll, in which I became and expert over the years. "You are fully capable Mia. You're annoying and six months preggers, but capable." I tease her, knowing she isn't going to disagree. "Nights like these always get messy and you know it! You know what happened last Christmas..." I squeeze my eyes at her. Again, something you missed. Last Christmas Eve the chef thought it was a good idea to experiment a little while we were out, causing multiple dishes to taste like absolute soap... Too much coriander he said... On which Mia ended up rolling her eyes the rest of the year every time she heard about the herb.

"Come on Bella, this pregnant lady here needs to get a night off and so do you." She laughs waving like a lunatic to staff as she hooks her arm in mine and pulls me halfway out of the door.

"I'm only here 4 nights a week." I roll my eyes again while waving my second family, staff, goodbye. Even though live has been crazy, and work takes up a lot of time and effort, I try to make time for my own family as they are my everything and something money and a career definitely can't buy. I always wanted a family, unconditional love... And damn did I get it. I won the jackpot on that part of life. "Aaaw isn't he a gentleman." I giggle at Mia when we find Ben waiting outside his car, ready to open the doors for us and his jaw nearly dropping to the floor when he sees his wife in a beautiful red flowy dress. Their wedding by the way, the most beautiful thing to watch, small, very cute and most of all two over the moon happy people saying I do.

Mia's elbow instantly pokes my side as she gives me the original eyeroll. "Oh, shut up, he's mine, you got one of your own." She smirks at me before throwing her arms around Ben and kissing him as if she hadn't seen him in a while, he only came by to bring us lunch today but hey I'm not keeping count. God night to you too...

"Are you ladies ready?" Ben says while rubbing Mia's bump trough her dress, addressing all three of us girls.

"More than ready." I say, filled with joy as I'm excited for a particular part of tonight, the part where we get to hand out presents. I have always been a fan of that ever since my first Christmas with the Davis family but this year I have a hard time hiding it.

- Five years earlier -

After a long day at the restaurant I was finally home and something stood out on our the doormat... It was a letter with my name on it and I found myself frowning at it weirdly, instantly recognising his handwriting. I chuckled while taking the letter between my fingers, unfolding it to read.
