Hoseok was waiting in the music room for the patients to arrive; he loved all his patients with all his heart, but he loved the group he was about to meet just a little bit more than the rest of the patients at the clinic. He was nervous as it was his first time he would deal with all seven at the one time but he was excited. He knew that Yugyeom and Bambam were energetic and Mark was quiet and too himself, the three balancing each others personalities out. Then you had Jaebeom who was terrified of any type of conflict thinking that it was directed at him and he was going to get hurt, Youngjae being a perfect counterpart to Jaebeom as he just kept Jaebeom's mind occupied by talking to him constantly and singing to him. And then of course you had Jinyoung who was still learning and then Jackson who was teaching Jinyoung everything he needed to know.
Slowly all the seven males arrived, they greet each other and then they sat down on different tables but within their own kind of cliques. On the tables they found paper, pens and pencils. Everyone looked up at Hoseok confused as to what the activity was going to be, one however knew what they were doing and had already stated. Mark looked around the room to find that he was the only one writing but he paid no attention to that fact as he continued letting his ideas flow.
When Hoseok saw that the other six males were ready, he presented Jihyo and she happily greeted all of them one by one, when they finish with the greetings he started to explain what they were going to do and how they would be able to complete their work without him being their.
"Okay, so today we are going to write our own songs. Music is a way in which we can express our emotions and feelings and we can help others to do it as well when listening to it. Today I'm asking you that you express your thoughts and feelings in your song." He started "Clearly one of you has some type of experience in this little activity and I am excited to see what you produce Mark" Hoseok says startling Mark, who lifted his head, looked around and then went back to writing.
"But Doc. Lee, how are we supposed to express something with a song? It's hard just to express it with words, and you are asking us to do something more complex." Hoseok hears one of the six males complain. Of course he knew that was going to happen so he had already written a little something.
"I understand your concern Jinyoung-ssi, but unfortunately you are wrong. With music you can use different methods to explain your feelings and to show how much something may effect you. It's difficult to understand with only words so I'll show a song that I wrote, so you can understand better, and then hopefully we can get you all started on your own songs" Hoseok says. Mark who had quietly been working on his song looked up to Hoseok curious as to how his song may sound.
Hoseok walked slowly towards the piano, he sat down and began to play the melody. Then with a sweet and calming voice he began to sing of course stunning everyone, even Jihyo.
«Hold me closer, don't let me go over
Hold me closer, lock it away
Keep my heart at your place, pull me closer
Cause anytime or place, I'd be your shield
When you feel like you ain't got the fight in you to heal
And when you're weak in defeat, I need you to knowBaby, I would go to war for you
Build an army if you need me to
Cause losing me is better than losing you
Don't you know that I would die for you
If I knew that you would make it through?
'Cause losing me is better than losing you»The song caught every one by surprise, the melody and lyrics matched perfectly with Hoseok's honey like voice, but the most important thing was the feelings he had manage to enhance in this song and how you could hear the emotion as he sung. A tear fell from Yugyeom and Mark's eyes as they finished listening to Hoseok sing and after taking in his lyrics which you could say hit home or them. The two had also used music to express their thoughts so they could feel what Hoseok was trying to express and understood a bit more than the others. Sadness, self-sacrifice and the way he was willing to lose everything for someone else's happiness, but that wasn't everything. There were no words to explain it, and that was the point.
Jinyoung could understand what Hoseok meant with the activity and how they were going to express themselves through a song full of raw emotions. As soon as he heard his voice, his chest began to hurt and he felt the necessity to comfort him, but he couldn't explain what the feeling was that he was trying to express nor why he was trying to express that specific feeling.
"A song can comfort you more than a thousand words could, and can relieve you more than a warm hug. I can see two of you use music to express yourselves in different ways, Mark writing music and Yugyeom listening to music with that raw emotion in it" Hoseok said earning a soft nod from the two teary eyed males who were now holding each other in an attempt to comfort each other.
"Find your emotions, thoughts and feelings, embrace them, understand them and finally write them. You don't really have to think about it, just follow what you feel, if you need any help, you can ask me or Jihyo, now please begin" Hoseok finished off, The males all now starting to write their own songs and trying their best to express everything correctly. Hoseok and Jihyo walked around helping everyone with words to use to help express the point a little more and also helping with how the flow of the song may go in order to write the perfect lyrics.
Hoseok canceled some meetings that he had with the owners of the clinic so he could be there with them, it wasn't and ideal thing to do, but it was for sure worth it, because he knew from his own experience that sometimes music is the only one who can save you and that is what he was hoping for within this room. Not only that but he was also hoping that the seven males would also make some new friends in the small group so the wouldn't sit in their own cliques. Today's session was about writing and expressing their feelings that no one else knew in a song.
The next session he was hoping that Hyunjin and himself could do some bonding exercises to get the males talking to each other. Of course the idea was still yet to be discussed but Hoseok had already thought of what games and ice breakers they could play in order to get the males interacting with each other.
